Might be nothing, might be something. Plastic Enemies just posted an old set pic of Jor-El with the robes. Maybe we'll see him?

I'll go one step further, get Paul Dini & Bruce Timm involved. Their Green Lantern was great and I had no previous affinity to the character.A Green Lantern movie is simple. Here are the 5 Steps:
1)This should be Star Wars meets Training Day
2)Get rid of Reynolds
3)Practical Costume and Mask
4)Use simpler villain(maybe the Manhunters or Atrocitus) Parallax is complicated and needed way more set up.
5)After Hal gets the ring from Abin Sur no more Earth stuff.
Bonus Tip: avoid the names Orci, Kurtzman, Lindeloff. Get someone with a love of Sci-fi to write this.

This should have been done for all the superman, batman, etc. movies. I don't know why they won't give these guys a chance. What did they do of green lantern? Was it a tv show?
both Dini and Timm have their own vision of the DC universe and obviously have established that in the DC animated universe. i know most people would love to see their interpretation of the DC heroes adapted in a live film but i personally think it won't translate too well in the big screen.
Have you seen the books by Alex Ross and Paul Dini? Superman: Peace on Earth, Batman: War on Crime. There are some others too. They are superb works of art and the stories are great too. They really capture the characters. I think the hardest part would be finding an actor who could pull of the role. They make those characters seem so much larger than life.

GL was in Superman the Animated Series for a couple episodes as Hal Jordan and as a regular in Justice Leagues as John Stewart. Not too familiar with GL, but both were characterized well. Dini & Timm were the guys behind Batman the Animated Series and the Mask of the Phantasm movie. This should have been done for all the superman, batman, etc. movies. They were amazing books. I own the oversized editions of those, Shazamower of Hope, Wonder Woman:Spirit of Truth, JLA:Secret Origins, and JLA:Liberty & Justice. The Batman one was one of those Dynamic Forces signed editions with a COA. I think that's when my fixation with Ross's artwork started.
Well, what I feared about the movie came true... not so sure about the figures anymore. I wonder how they'll sell. This is no Nolan Batman... just Snyder doing what he does, a little bit better I suppose.

did the Man of Steel not live up to its hype?
funny, i actually own both of those books and more from Alex Ross. I'm actually a huge fan of Alex Ross. you're right, Dini did a hell of job on the writing but the selling point for me was the art. the books read more like narratives than a your regular comic books but still great stories and the best art I've seen in comic books. it's because of Alex Ross' art that i got into comics.
Alex Ross artwork is the only thing adorning my walls. I have been a dedicated fan ever since "Marvels" came out, which I think was 1994, back when I used to work in a comic book store.
