What are the odds that Hot Toys would do Marcus as a DX figure?

I waited to buy the Joker and now I only have the DX01 Joker.

I feel like I saved a lot of money buy waiting for the definitive Joker.

I don't want to feel compelled to buy a second Marcus!

I'd say those odds are very slim to none... Highly improbable IMO...

I believe HT said they were done with the TS license, and Marcus basically is like half a DX already with 2 headsculpts and 2 different jackets...

ok if i had to choose one to buy marcus or t-600 which one should it be?

Marcus Marcus Marcus :)
He is much more fun to pose. I have the T-600 as well but it ends up being a companion figure rather than a stand alone for me

DX Marcus is not happening for sure. Look at how poorly the regular Marcus is doing considering what a great figure it is, well not poorly but it certainly did not go up in value months after release and I don't even think it is really sold out anywhere?

Not selling well maybe due to the movie not being so great.T-600 would sell more because they can be imagined within the original plot of the first movies.I think Marcus and John Connor are both Hot Toys top human figures to date, in sculpt and especially paint application which has been bumped up a notch in overall awesomeness.

Totally agree. Considering that the only human faces I have is DX01 and Two Face, JC and MW are by far more realistic with loads of details! Details that I do not notice until I zoom in on pictures of it. I am telling you they hired a bunch of those Chinese artists that write poems on a corn of rice!

My wife is gonna freak when she gets the Discover bill!!!:horror

Regarding the quality of the movie: I really liked it more than I thought I would based on the reviews I had read.

I have never been a huge fan of the Terminator movies (I've seen them, but maybe they just didn't resinate with me at that time in my life) so I wasn't comparing it to them.

I agree that JC was kind of lacluster as a character, but the MW story was very compeling despite being a bit cliche. And Sam did a great job with him.

Plus I like the bleakness of the movie and the Post Apocoliptic feel in general.

One question: I plan on building a second MW and am having trouble finding another narrow shoulder TT. Is that the body I want and where can I find one? (I only need the body right?--meaning no wrist/ankle pegs or neck adaptor.)

Don't worry, I liked the movie for what it was as well ;)

I put mine on a narrow and looks to be right and if you pick one up new and complete you will get the neckadapter and everything else you need alongside with it. The problem is really the clothing :p

I actually hated the movie, then grew a liking for just a few scenes in it.Some great character designs(mainly why i bought the HT figures) but, the movie lacks a good director and needed more Terminators, swearing, blood and gore..the cool stuff thats now lost in the eighties.

Whoa, MaulFan, new avatar!

I like it but it's going to take some getting used to!

What was wrong with the acting?

You got me, I thought the acting was great.

We know that Christian Bale is a good actor... the character was just a little... meh.

That was really the only thing about the movie I had a problem with, and the reason that I wont be buying Hot Toy's JC unless I find a crazy good deal.

I am more interested in finding the stuff needed to have both MW headsculpts on display.

I see that ebay has the clothes I would need, but I cant find a narrow TT anywhere... anybody know where I can find one, or do I need to wait for more to be made... or would a standart TT look just as good under the blue coat?

Two words: Bat Connor.

I'm just tired of the 'great military leader', John Connor, always getting his but saved and needing help from Terminators. That doesn't sound like a hero to me. That sounds like a dumbass who keeps getting lucky. Every time I see a good Terminator, it loses what made T1 so great. Man vs the machines he created. Now it's just man + machine vs the machines. Meh. The point of the first one was kind of to say that we shouldn't rely on machines too much, but every sequel shows machines saving the ____ing day. Dumb!

O.K., I have to admit, the "Bat Connor" thing was funny.

I did hear a little batman in Bales voice now and then.

But the points you bring up about John Connor are issues with the character not the acting. John Connor was well portrayed just maybe not that well written. (I made this point already.)

Regarding your thoughts on T1 verses all the others being "dumb."

Watch Terminator Salvation again and listen very carefully to the voice-overs at the end.

The concept of man verses machine is indeed an interesting one but not all that original anymore. To the original Terminator, you can add the Matrix and I'm sure a slew of others that have done it.

Terminator Salvation, while still circling around that concept, was really about the question of what makes us human.

Answer: Heart.

Heart has many definitions:

1. Anatomy
a. The chambered muscular organ in vertebrates that pumps blood received from the veins into the arteries, thereby maintaining the flow of blood through the entire circulatory system.
b. A similarly functioning structure in invertebrates.
2. The area that is the approximate location of the heart in the body; the breast.
3.
a. The vital center and source of one's being, emotions, and sensibilities.
b. The repository of one's deepest and sincerest feelings and beliefs: an appeal from the heart; a subject dear to her heart.
c. The seat of the intellect or imagination: the worst atrocities the human heart could devise.
4.
a. Emotional constitution, basic disposition, or character: a man after my own heart.
b. One's prevailing mood or current inclination: We were light of heart.
5.
a. Capacity for sympathy or generosity; compassion: a leader who seems to have no heart.
b. Love; affection: The child won my heart.
6.
a. Courage; resolution; fortitude: The soldiers lost heart and retreated.
b. The firmness of will or the callousness required to carry out an unpleasant task or responsibility: hadn't the heart to send them away without food.
7. A person esteemed or admired as lovable, loyal, or courageous: a dear heart.
8.
a. The central or innermost physical part of a place or region: the heart of the financial district. See Synonyms at center.
b. The core of a plant, fruit, or vegetable: hearts of palm.
9. The most important or essential part: get to the heart of the matter.

The things in bold above are the issues addressed in the movie and sadly are the very qualities that are missing in so many people today.

Marcus Wright had these qualities...

and that's why I want him on my shelf!

P.S. To be fair, the concept of 'what makes us human' isn't totally new either... but I think it is very well presented in Terminator Salvation.

Terminator 2 had an equally important message though, which was regarding human nature to destroy ourselves. What I took away from T2 was that something like Judgement Day was almost an innevitability you couldn't prevent, whether Skynet or something else, man innevitable will destroy itself the way it's nature is unless it fights that and changes.

However, I do agree, we've yet to get a story that gives us the legendary John Connor, we just get John Connor so far, nothing special, nothing worth pledging allegiance too. All we get are hints from Reese in T1 and comments from others in T:S about loyalty to Connor, but on screen we are not given actions to back up why these people feel that way.

I don't think it means T:S was bad, it was an interesting story and basically the Marcus Wright story, it just wasn't THE John Connor story and I'll keep waiting for someone to finally do it.

Agreed.

If they make a T:5 that has a compelling John Connor, then I'll think about buying a JC figure.

I just had a thought... Is it a coincident that John Connor's initials are JC?

Probably been discussed to death somewhere, just never thought of it before.
