"opinions are like asses: everyone has one, and they all stink" (c)

p.s. i waited for HT alien very much. it appeared to be crap. i would purchase medicom if it was the same size as HT predators because i agree, it is the closest HEAD representation. body is awful.

Body awful?
That sounds a bit harsh, as it is very accurate and very well constructed. I have some smaller issues with it, but awful?

So you don't own any alien figures or statues then? All of them too inaccurate or crappy and awful for you?

Please, enlighten me on what you think is the only good Alien toy or statue one should own.

Display it somewhere else?

There are just so many cool figures around that I'd hate to restrict myself to one size. What are we collecting, cool figures, or figures of a certain size? How could you deny yourself the 22" NECA, or the 5" Revoltech Alien? It just seems to miss the point of why we are all doing this.
I'm far from an OCD collector, but it looks sloppy when you display figures of various sizes together, and with my limited space, I'm not going to have a single shelf dedicated to one figure.

Also, just a friendly FYI, you shouldn't assume that everybody collects things for the same reasons as you, and has the same tastes. You come off as more than a bit myopic and obnoxious when you do. :)

Right now I'm drooling over the possibility of getting the Marmit B... but damn, it's expensive.

I think you should jump on that offer abake, it's a hell of a lot less than they used to go for. I think I paid at least twice that for my 04 a few years ago. I can't believe how much they've dropped in price. There was some 99s on ebay that sat for quite a while, the seller even kept dropping the price each relisting.

I've seen a 99 B go for $1,300. Now, not so much.

I'd love to get the 23" vinyl someday, but I'm not spending $600-800 on it.

That wasn't my intention Karamazov. I'm just saying, a cool figure is a cool figure.

Writing it off for just being a few inches smaller than other figures you happen to own could be said to be pretty myopic and obnoxious too.

Damn James! Don't do this to me man! :lol

No. I was stating my opinion, which is not an obnoxious thing to do last I checked. You are trying to force your opinion on others. I can understand where you are coming from, but it is not what I choose to do with my collection.

Abake, I've seen a few 99Bs floating around lately too. I'd keep an eye for those, the pose is tighter and sleeker than the 04, plus the head the face are slightly different, looks more accurate.

But the 04 is an awesome piece as well.
I know I'm in the minority, but the 99A is my favorite of all of them.

Anyway back on topic, COME ON HT, keep tweaking!

Not at all, I'm just trying to encourage others to enjoy a cool figure they might have dismissed for no better reason than that it is a few inches smaller than they'd like.

you did it in the youtube-post. convinced me, and that is very difficult cause i've seen all alien figures and hate them all.

since that time you're just acting like arabian fanatic who is ready to explode everybody who doesnt love (allah) medicom alien.

:rotfl

Me, earlier today:

"YOU WILL BUY MEDICOM ALIEN OR I WILL EXPLODE YOU!"

yes, exactly :)

no joking: could you please make a photo of medicom alien near ht predator 1 or predator 2? or endoskeleton?
i totally dislike future ht alien, and medicom seems to be the only variant with correct head among all figures, but, as you mentioned, if one starts collecting movie creatures, he tries to keep them in one scale.

I'm afraid I don't own any of those figures. I'm not really a big collector, which is probably the reason I'm not worried about size and just buy what I like. But I did take this photo of it next to my HT Alien Warrior, and you can clearly see how out of scale it is with that.

But you know - everyone has a bathroom window ledge which needs an ornament, right? ;)

Anyway, personally I think that photo shows again that actually it's more detailed than people say - it's just that it has a very, very dull paint job, with no highlights or shadows. That's why I'm dying to see someone do a re-paint.

right about painting. but it is not the only problem.
the, khm.... holes, carves (?) are not too deep. that's what disturbed me about that rubber body.

p.s. thank you for size-comparing photo. pity he is really out of standart scales. such an excellent sculpt job remains forgotten.

p.p.s. the photo also shows how awful is the ht alien-2, whose body should look like almost alike with alien-1 %)
what a flight of HT fantasy. magic mushrooms.
