As someone who is making his first baby steps in sculpting, I feel bad for disliking the finished product when the skill involved in the initial sculpt is so phenomenal.

I love the use of different materials (metal wiring etc) to get the textures on the body. Giger would be proud.

the head looks much better in this variant.
maybe it will look closer to them than to promotional photos in the end. the silhouette isn't bad. it's an illusion of course, but it gives hope that awful godzilla head posted on promo-photos was an illusion too.

I remember talking to Kyle (Tankman) when he was sculpting his alien and how he steadfastly refused to use wires and stuff, because he felt it would never be accurate enough.

I wish HT or Joseph Tsang would explain to us just why it is that they don't want to make an accurate sculpt...

It is great seeing how the man works though.

The head shown in the second and third (first and second?) series of photos looks great. Is it newer than what we've seen so far? Or is it older, and for some reason Tsang was told to make newer heads that were less accurate?

Looks cool in those pics. Amazing detail. It's not accurate, but it's good enough for my shelf. Honestly, what figure is 100% accurate?

I don't see any reference photos or material laying about in those shots. I assumed he used some? Or maybe not considering how the head looks.

Would explain why the posturing of his hands and arms in his sculpt have a more ALIENS, attacking look to them compared the truer look for the ALIEN.

You can be talented and not accurrate. His design may not be 100% accurrate, but the quality with which he executed the design he did sculpt is very well done.

The thing seems to be that he wants it to look "cool" in his eyes.
I don't want "cool".......I want accurate.
