I pre-ordered mine thru Viking Playground. I emailed them regarding the shipping status. The rep said maybe after X-mas or early Jan 2010...

I can wait, but yes I would like to see new pics too :D

Been doing some fixing of the dome as well as repaint the teeth over sunday. What do ya think?

Transparency of the dome enhanced with little polish...(a sample pix of the half done dome)

What is up with that bevelled edge on the dome? I mean...why?

>Sigh< I would so rather buy a 14" tall version of the NECA alien than buy this. The 18" is tempting but that scale is just useless to my collection. I think I may definitively pass on this HT one even if I find myself with a big gap in purchases. Its just not good enough.

How do you do the rolling eyeballs with this guy? Seems like that and the stand are really the only points that distinguish the DX figures from anything else.

Well they've only done a few DX figures and the ones that were human had the eyeballs and different stands but iron man was battle damaged and batman was with different heads.
This is all new stuff so I could imagine hot toys coming up with something creative and new for a dx alien. It would sell if it was accurate and I'm sure they know that if they read these forums.
I'm holding off for a while.

Its my understanding that the BD Iron Man is just a standard MMS. Thus we only have Joker and Batman in the DX line so far. To me the Alien has scant potential for a DX version. If they wanted to give us an accurate one it'd have been this one. Its not like the TDK suit Batman or Joker where the original figures were designed before the film even came out so there was maybe excusable margin for error there. Alien and its referance material has been around since 1979 - theres no reason this one couldn't have been superaccurate. If they wanted to give it a supercool base they could just as easily make that a Sideshow exclusive of the MMS figure. It didn't use weapons. They wouldn't give us accessories with an Alien that have nothing to do with the Alien itself which would rule out the motion trackers, flamethrowers etc. What does that leave?
