There were quite a few options when I went to Ikea and put my setup together. The doors shown in this particular setup are the ones i really did not like because the frame was so thin it showed the edges of the wood inside the cabinets. The white ones I used sort of frame the collection, although I would have preferred the same dark wood for the frames around my clear glass sections, it just was not available. Only white, or that chrome thin glass shown above. Then the frosted doors, of which I have many, come in all the wood colors. Weird. But I like them. Well, except for one major flaw. The pressboard of the frames bows out quite badly on the larger doors. Not noticeable from the front, but if you look from the side the gap widens in the center of each door, as in it does not butt up against the cabinet all the way down evenly. Know what I mean?

I will bet that there will be no V2... only thing we've seen up to this point for Aliens have been color variations. This is likely all we will get and I'll be happy enough with it.

I mean look how off the Aliens Warrior was... and that was never improved, not to mention its one of the worst bodies (in terms of looseness/breaking) that HT ever released. If it never got a V2, I'd be amazed if this one got it.

I'm amazed they haven't yet.
Maybe they think hot toys are to far ahead of them in quality.
Then again they would charge alot less too. If anything it would only create more competetion on the market and be a great thing for us collectors.

I think they could make a killing with their Alien figure in 1/6 scale.
Kyle has already stated that he would love to see it made in 1/6 scale, and if it happened, he'd take the chance to re-sculpt some bits that displease him.
NECA could launch a new "series" of figures in 1/6, put them in nicer, more elaborate packaging, step up the paint apps and QC, throw in a base, raise the price slightly and they would still sell tons of aliens...

I mean, I got my NECA 21" Alien for 36 bucks! That is ridiculously cheap.

that's all woulda-shoulda-coulda. bottom line is they still haven't and i don't see why they'd change their minds.

with that said, IF in some parallel universe where they care about what message boards say, a 1:6 alien with a better sculpt than ht's at like 1/4 the price would be killer. especially with the aliens warrior. collectors would buy multiples. or at least i would. i don't even care about the paint app that much. if the sculpt is great, i'll be more than happy to paint the thing myself. and they definitely need good bases. they're top-heavy.


speaking of which - where'd you get the 21" for $36? i need me another one of those.

I think BBTS have it for 41 bucks, which isn't bad at all.

that's how i see it. and they're much cooler figures than the alien is anyway.
i think they're gonna be the extent of my 1:6 Alien 1 collection unless a someone makes Ash.

I preordered mine from toys2.net. It certainly isn't the most movie accurate verion of the Alien, but it's still a pretty cool figure in & of itself, & will display well with my other 2 HT Aliens figures.
