I agree with this logic.

There would be such a huge backlash if HT offered a perfect DX alien in a few months. Retailers and customers just wouldn't trust them any more.

They've never gone back and "fixed" an alien. They just vary the color at best.

The worst that could happen here is that HT offers a darker, "black" alien with a fogged dome and a white tongue as a blister variant.

I was always a huge Alien fan but never did buy any from Hot Toys until now. I'm getting this one for sure.

They wouldn't give us accessories with an Alien that have nothing to do with the Alien itself which would rule out the motion trackers, flamethrowers etc. What does that leave?

I really thought this figure should have had an alien egg, one that could be opened and closed, facehugger and chestburster as accessories.

i just watched alien on a 50 inch pioneeer kuro and slowly paused all the parts with the alien - ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!! i just cant figure out where they are getting version from ???? the teeeth look more like avp alien . they did so great with there terminator line and predators .i mean they even recalled the conner head because it was not accurate enough .THIS VERSION MAY VERYWELL BE BASED ON THE VERY ORIGINAL DRAWINGS THAT GIEGER MADE. not the final version thats in the movie .there is just noway they could have noticed how different this looks.

Just to clarify, the Connor head was about paint app quality, not accurracy, it's still as innaccurrate as it always was, just painted better.

I was really looking forward to this, but I'm just not sold on it because the head is SO off. It's just not the original Alien to me- the original spookiness of Giger's design is just not there. And what's with the "big chap" name? It just seems so bizarre, to my knowledge it isn't a real name used for it, so it seems weird 20thCF would allow that name to go on the Packaging. The recent original Predator didn't get a weird name.

No, it has nothing to do with licensing rights to the Alien.
These aren't actors who have to sign off on their own likeness. If you have the right to make an Alien figure, you have the right to it's likeness.

It's ALL about the artist just puting his take on it.

Hell, as has been mentioned before, he even had the LESS than accurate McFarlane on his sculpting desk as a reference.

And "Big Chap" refers to the name he was given by the guys at the movie studio where the movie was filmed.
They were British and called him the Big Chap.
Much like the AvP:R Pred was called "Wolf" and the Predalien "Chet".

Yeah but I think its really stupid that they actually print the name 'Big Chap' on the packaging...really big and prominently too. It was a JOKE name by the film crew not something like the 'Dragon' that the dog alien was actually dubbed within the movie. Like I said a few pages back why not call it Bickuss Dickuss while you're at it. With the phallic nature of the head that'd be appropriate - seen as we're going with joke names. Oh well, they didn't take accuracy seriously either.
