I think what turns people off about the Medi-alien is the (non-existant) paint-apps.
I'm sure that if it had a great paint job people would be much more forgiving of its scale issues, but the fact is it does look a bit plain.

My dream is getting an extra Medi-alien very cheap and then sending it off to Les for a full repaint. I can just picture in my head how mind-blowingly good it would look.

You're absolutely right, which is why I always photograph it in low lighting! :)

I was "lucky" enough to get mine reasonably cheaply (i.e. it still cost bloody loads!), so I doubt I'd ever get another one cheap enough to risk a re-paint. I'm dying to see someone have a crack at it though.

Regarding the modded Big Chap above, it does look a lot better. There is still a major problem with the proportions though. Look how far away the bridge of the nose is from the top row of teeth. The top lip needs to be at least half the size it is.

I'd love to see a shot of it from the front.

Got my processing notice (for the 21st) today from Sideshow.

I'm not uber excited about this one.

But, it'll be cool to have in the collection.

Finally a gift I don't feel guilty giving myself, since I used rewards points toward the big chap. Probably won't have these by Christmas though. That's a bummer.

I recieved my Alien the other night. I know some here are not to happy with it, but I like it. I will however not be displaying it with mouth open as it looks like the tendons around the mouth would just snap after a while if left stretched for long periods.

Great pictures. The beast looks good to me. How's the poseability? Does it hold poses? The Medicom one doesn't score to high in that department, not for me anyways.

Movment is limited at shoulders, hips and neck. I think I have them maxed out in the pose it is in, in those photo's. The knee's and elbows have good movement though. There is more movement in the mid torso join than the rubber skin allows, but I have turned the torso join as far as I can before an obvious crease appears on stomach area.

Hmm, the profile of the dome seems greatly improved from even the second re-do.
