I'm a bit dissapointed regarding the rubber body. I had hoped that HT were using a different material to the usual but there ya go.

I got my shipping notice from Goodshipped today so I should get him next week.

I was reading in the forums about the Big Chap Alien figure and various recommendations. I even let it warm up to room temperature several hours after it arrived. I carefully inspected mine for damage and unfortunately I found the tear you see in the photo. I was being so careful with it too.

It has a hole in its ah... back side... kinda embarrassing...

I contacted Sideshow and they have already requested a photo in response.

I really do like the Alien figure overall even with its problems.

Hello, I'm new to sideshow freaks - this is my first post. Anyway, I've had this figure since the beginning of December and I've still got mixed feelings about it. I've got a reasonably large Hot Toys collection and this one is the only one I'm dissatisfied with. I think the body is really nice, and the head is okay - but the mouth still grinds my gears. It's my overriding feeling that Hot Toys really cut a corner with this one. The box was so far below Hot Toys usual standards I couldn't believe it when it turned up. I was expecting something magnificent for the 30th anniversary of such a seminal film, yet there's no information on the creature or Giger at all and I think it deserved a small art book - like the Godfather figure. anyone agree?

Welcome Aboard!!! I agree with you 100%. They should have given it "the works" Hopefully HT doesnt come up with a DX version or some other 2.0 version...

thanks, yeah i'm getting annoyed by the DX thing in a way. I have the DX Joker (and it is truly amazing) I don't like the idea of getting a figure (usually at quite a cost) only to have it usurped months later. Although, part of me would there to be a DX Alien where they pulled out the stops and got the mouth right

Anyways it's a why ask why inregards to HT I think. They had never done a DX version of any other characters except (I think) The Batman & IronMan line.

Would it be cost effective for them to do a DX line later this year?

I am fairly certain it was already there. After reading so much, I really started looking for any problems. I saw that spot on the leg and moved the leg slightly. Then I saw the actual tear near the tail.

The good thing is that Sideshow sent me an RMA number a few minutes ago so I can get a replacement. I'll rush it out as soon as UPS sends me the shipping tag e-mail. I have another one ordered from BBTS.COM so I will have to really check that one out also.

I agree 100%. Well said. I think the "non-obsessive fan" statement is the key to the whole thing.

It's not even being obesessive. My one and ONLY issue with entire figure is the mouth. Now, seeing is how the mouth was the only thing shown in the movie, it completly ruins the figure for me. The body is amazing looking, and the paint is spot on....but that mouth...ugh.

the mouth is a big let down - for me the problem is so obvious as well (which makes it all the more annoying) - there is too much flesh/rubber below and (most crucially)above the teeth on the figure. With the Giger Alien design the teeth almost meet the front of the dome.
