What is Hot Toys doing with all those Stormtrooper helmets?

:banghead
my god! why does everyone keep complaining about rorschach not being made, when we know he IS being made?? they just haven't released official pics yet.

these were pics from the ht offices:

now...we know they're making him, so i just wanna know what's taking so long for pics :(

It's worth noting that Sideshow (the only official NA distributor of these) sold out of both figures before they shipped. Why people are assuming the line is done is lost on me. We'll see at least one, if not 2, more.

Oh, and Liev Schrieber >>>>>>>>>>> Tyler Mane, no matter what character they're playing.

Agen, go back to the TDK jizzfest threads. :lol

This whole thing about HT not finishing the line had me thinking. The comedian and silk are the two most challenging figures to make. The remainders are simple in comparison. Ror is a TT with two heads. Owl is a modified version of the original Batman suit. They just don't seem that complicated. Dr. M is the only one that has me scratching my head.

interesting, i was actually thinking the opposite. i would consider rorschach the easiest to make, SS second, then comedian. then doc manhattan (depending on what they want to do with him) followed by ozymandias and nite owl. the ozy suit in particular would need to be slim fitting, something HT have had problems with. plus the original batman suit was simple colour wise, whereas ozy's seems pretty complex. i hope HT accept the challenge anyway. come on HT - don't be a bunch of *******.

That is a funny resemblence to Hook. Give HT "some" credit. Collector's been asking for classic expressions, they at least gave it a shot on The Comedian.

I really like the expression. Its funny and creepy and in my opinion dead on. The finish paint looks good and so does the figure. The lighting looks to me to be flattening out the teeth a little. With a good shot with a little down light that sculpt will look BAD A$$. Im getting this motha!

i am so in for this figure! like has just been said we have been giving HT a real tough time over Aldo's expression but here they have given us a classic look and i love it cant wait to get this now :D

When is it due for release?

Thanks

You have to cut them some slack. That small text would be a _____ to put on the handle of a 1/6 handgun.

DC Direct did it with their 13" Comedian figure. I assume that's what the pic is of.

Regardless, I'm more than happy with Hot Toys' figure, as is.

The teeth are really throwing me off, they look really weird. Kind of glad I didn't buy it yet.

I don't suppose he can hold his cigar in his mouth. HT used to be able to do that without any weird results to the sculpt. Davy Jones had his pipe and I want to say Dutch could as well. I guess the goofy smile probably prevents that from working here though. I kind of picture the Comedian always chomping on his cigar, like Nick Fury.

I still find it strange they release 2 Watchmen characters and they are the two that probably had the least amount of screen time together. What, one scene where a guy just wants to meet his daugther? Thats about it really. Granted the Comedian wasn't in it with anyone a whole lot with him being dead within the first 5 minutes, but he had plenty of fighting time with Night Owl and Dr. Manhatten at least. Still just really strange characters to make first.

I really wish he came with that younger head that Andy did. REALLY wish. That would have looked much better and would have at least matched SS for time period. AND he could have had the cigar in his mouth.

The young Comedian head would have matched Silk Spectre II for time period?

More or less. The head we are getting is the 70's riot era. The younger head looks more of a match to the SS scenes than this one.

Ah, I don't remember very well. Been a while since I've seen the movie. I assumed the older head sculpt would be a better fit, since the Silk Spectre figure looks like an older version of the character than the early years young version.

Still, I won't disagree that an extra head sculpt would have been the right choice for HT. Oh well.

He looks pretty great to me so far. The teeth kind of look odd because there is no even hint of a bottom row, looks like he's pulling an odd smile.

SS II is the figure we got. Young Comedian fits with SS I, Carla Gugino. Right now we have father and daughter figures.

Young Comedian head really only works with his first costume, the jester style.

I think he meant this one:

The only problem I have with Andy's sculpt is how young Blake looked. I don't there was a scar present in it either. If he had added that, then I'd say that it would've been a fantastic second head sculpt.

Here is Andy's unproduced sculpt:
