DC Direct did it with their 13" Comedian figure. I assume that's what the pic is of.

Regardless, I'm more than happy with Hot Toys' figure, as is.

Im cuttin' HT NO slack on this one. The 70 dollar DCD one had it which is what the pic is from yes, theres no excuse not t have it on this

Ray, why not buy the DCD ones for the accessories? I wont do that but thats an idea.

But I agree, HT could do it, but chooses not to. Just look at engraving on wolverines dogtag!

I don't know why but don't you think something so small and obvious would be a no brained for Hot Toys, unless there was a reason for it? I often read how they can be lazy and not know what they are doing from people on this board but Hot Toys makes the best damn figures out there and maybe there are reasons that some of these things happen that is out of thier control. Its easy to sit back and pass judgement without having any idea what it takes to bring these amazing things to us.

Trust me, this has nothing to do with Hot Toys being too lazy or forgetting to put a smiley here and there. This can only be a rights issue like the Kane-Gate scandal of 2009.
In all honesty it ain't no big thing when you see how awesome the figure is as a whole ..

I have questkion for everyone. Is s**ks HT couldn't license the smile face for the Comedian (I assume that's what the problem is). I picked up one if the DCD 13" Comedian figures on EBAY cheap over the summer. The figure is OK, but lacks the detail of the HT figure. Would it be possible to pull off the Smile badge from this figure and replace on the HT version? Seems like it would be a solution and I don't care if the DCD figure gets ruined- I paid less than $30 for it.
My only concern is doing some damage to the HT version when I try to get off the plain yellow circle.

I seem to remember someone, maybe wookster, posted on the Smiley fan page on Facebook and asked about this and was told HT had the OK but chose not to do it.

If anyone could do it Evilface surely could because he is the man at that sort of stuff but given the concave shape of the one on his chest, i'd wager to say that no technique out there could achieve a satisfactory result. Good luck Evilface we are counting on you!

I think using a microscale decal (like the ones included with Gundam model kits and other types of scale model kits) and then applying a layer of Microsol decal solvent on top of it allows the decal to conform on any surface shape, whether it be entirely flat or convex.

Of course, you'd need someone to make you a smiley face set to the specific size...

Transfers like a model car would work best, but I'll cut and offer the black eyes and mouth. IF they will cut that small.

I still have access to a 2400 dpi dry film printer used for making those decals. Unlike the inkjet ones these are professionsal grade ones like the ones that come with the kits. I am going to do this for my figure and the two guns. I can print several of these if need be. I may also just go ahead and make a complete replacement button with the blood drop as well.
