Yup, while the neck is slightly iffy in a few of the offical shots, that one Toy Hunters shot really looks like someone popped the head off and didn't put it back on all the way or intentionally did it to achieve some pose, it just looks like the curved part is the top of the neck and that should be up inside the head.

As long as the production piece looks like this, I'll be quite happy.

Now, where's that T-1000 HT :tap

This picture seals it for me. Now tell me you don't see Arnold. Shows you how differant a figure can look like with a decent camera and lighting compared to a quick snap from behind glass.

Well we're expecting it because of how quick Sarah came after T-800, but I was honestly surprised how fast she showed up. HT's weird with announcements, usually it seems like you get 1 or 2 figures at one time, like Batman and Joker when TDK started, then you don't get anything for a few months after that. Sarah coming only a month later really surprised me, hopefully the rest of the T2 line will show up just as fast, we'll see.

Well I don't think anyone's ever said Dutch or this T-800 don't look like Arnold, I think pretty much everyone agrees it looks like him. Some feel that it's him, but as if someone too a press and squished the top and bottom of his head in towards the middle and squished all the features. There are also some that feel other small things don't match their vision of how he should look. There are also some like you and I that think it looks just fine as is.

Its not a case of not seeing Arnold for me or anyone else I expect. The individual features are there, they just are too compacted together. And as a result of that the sunglasses are not completely accurate because if they were made accurate in size and shape he'd end up looking like a footballer's WAG - they'd cover a silly amount of his face and HT knew this most likely but, like most people here, they just don't think its that big of an error to justify a complete resculpt.

I think Hot Toys and Yulli probably really stand behind the sculpt, she seems to be a big Arnie and T2 fan and probably poured a lot into this head and stands by it without regret. I don't think there's a sculpt in the world that couldn't have some flaw found in it. You take your best shot and hope to get it as right as possible, and it's art, so personal creative style and interpratation will play into it as well. I'm sure in some ways, this sculpt reflects Yulli's vision of T2 Arnie, not just taking photos and turning it into a 3D sculpture, but translating source material she really cares about.

I guess like hats they haven't mastered glasses in this scale (or any scale really) they always look strange on the face or, in this case, wrong off the face because they are too small.

In the proto pics the glasses look fine, but I cant help but notice that the pictures of the sunglasses in tommys blog dont look the same. It sort of looks like arnold from T3.

After watching those last pics im not so glad i preorder mine:confused:Something is way off about that head sculpt..And man i hate those two piece head sculpt it look so cheap ill guess we will have to wait to have the figure in hand to judge..But those last pics are realy disappointing:banghead Sorry about my bad english by the way..

Nah you're just getting ahead of yourself. Like you say, wait for in hand pics before making the final call. Since the start of this thread there have been what imo looks like 3 different figures.

Pictures usually always make a product look weak imo ........... well unless they recieve Maulfan treatment. :D

I would actually guess, the glasses in Tommy's shots aren't the ones in the HT photos, the Tommy ones seem smaller if you compare similar viewing angles. The question is, which ones will he ship with if they are different pairs, hopefully the ones in the HT shots.

They definitely look bigger in the HT shots to me.

And a washed out one to see just the shapes of the frames.

The sculpt is fine. Hot Toys aren't going to change it. Why would they? Why should they? Look what happened when they changed the Thriller sculpt. People wished they'd changed it back. If they're going to bother about changing the sculpt, it'd be for the next figure they're planning to do.

Well if they agree enough with fans, they do change it. They changed Marcus Wright's portraits and the Blade ones. I thought the Thriller sculpt was something Hot Toys changed on their own and that people wanted the original one that was on display at a convention but the one HT actually showed in the order images was the altered one?

I really agree. We have a great sculpt. Making it longer or bigger could make it look really skinny. People should be happy that we have such a good sculpt now.

Maybe. Who really knows? Whose to say they don't put up a prototype, to draw in orders, with the intention of improving it up until the time it goes into production, and we just perceive it as them listening to the buyers.

I certainly wouldn't want them to make it look like Arnold, with his disfigurements, or is that unusual facial characteristics. Like I said, they did Arnie a favour, and everyone buying this one too. If it was perfect, then what would that make the next one? Either a copy or a fail. Seeing as they're going DX they may as well make that one have any and all improvements. This one looks great as is.

I think this is a beautiful figure and I have mine on pre-order. But IMO, his head is a bit squashed. He looks fine without the sunglasses in most photos, but once you put on his sunglasses, the face does appear to be a tad squashed.

I think this minor issue could be improved by lengthening (by a little) the distance between the bottom of the sunglasses frame to the bottom of his chin.

Compare this photo https://www.whereistheoutrage.net/w...ploads/2009/02/terminator-2-judgement-day.jpg

to the T800 prototype.

Sorry, my internet/computer is having a little trouble linking the photos.

Once again, I am not bashing this figure, I already have mine on pre-order. THis is just my opinion on how hot toys can further improve on their great T800.

What? Skinny? If that is how it looks like in the movie than how it would be look skinny? Make it movie accurate and there will be no problemo. Arnold is not skinny (face or otherwise) in the movie and if HT make it just like in T2, well there will be no problemo just like I said. I gues I will wait for in hand pictures from you guys or I will wait for the DX version. I think this is the best choice.

The thing is, I don't think there has been one thread about a Hot Toys figure that hasn't had a post saying the sculpt is off.
These comments are inevitable, because as we have discussed before some people see the likeness when others don't.
