If they let T2's 20th birthday come and go with no announcement, no teaser, no figure then it may well be the case that getting a BD T2 at all was always just wishful thinking.

It would be a shame if Hot Toys misses this opportunity.
I would love to see them do a T2 BD.

...and you know this, how?

How do you know they don't pull off something special like a Thriller type box with one body and both sets of clothes/accessories. For all I know thats wrong too but I can't help but think they would want to make it special.

I agree with special, but there are 2 stages of BD for them to do in one box. Ideally they'll give us all the parts for Cyberdyne semi BD and steel mill full BD in one box, unless they release more than 1 more set but at this point i'd feel lucky to get 1, and also include the grenade launcher with a full compliment of grenades on the bandolier and the mini gun with bag.

Reality is, depenind on what HT wanted to do, you could make 2-3 more T2 T-800s but the way things are going, I see them judt doing one more release, probably DX, to celebrate the 20th or we'll just never get more, there's no rational reason to have so much time lapse after the last figure shipped and move on to another movie.

There he is.
This figure definitely deserves some shelf space.
Thanks for sharing buddy.

Yeah, this guy deserves a nice lookin' shelf! :monkey1 Just an amazing figure! :clap I can see the rest of your collection here..congrats! :hi5:

Thank you, guys! :duff

Those figs that you see on the shelfs in the background are just some of the military figures that I collect. That's how I started in 1/6th. I really need to take some pics of the room and open a thread in the "show your shelves" section...

It's been slow as it is lately with many releases or reveals. So the board feels, as many section's there's not been as much activity as last year.

Gotta check that out. :wave

True, but it was fine when the T1 T-800 came up. Maybe they were just putting out another more basic figure to buy time, but it wasn't a good sign to move onto the next movie while the current one wasn't finished.

There's still a chance but it's looking less and less likely, and it wouldn't be beyond HT to not make all possible figures in a line.

It's probably marketing tactics so they aren't left with old stock that nobody wants. They let all the T1's sell out and people buy duplicates T2 T-800 since it was a re-run. Once no doubt their sales or whatever it is they do to check shops are all sold out more or less maybe they'll leave the special one for the end.

They save the best for last. As they know that will be a guaranteed sell out. As I'm sure we should know Hot Toys by now they love to please their fans with teasers, style, accessories/features and packaging.

I wanted to get another T2 T-800 but I changed my mind as I didn't want a lot of Arnie's on display. It's bad enough as it is with 4 different looks for T-1000's but that had to be done because as I'm sure most love the soft illusion look when he gets damaged showing silver/holes for the various looks.

As much as I'd love to have a second T2 T-800 from the photos people have posted with the Cyberdyne look, don't get me wrong it's been terribly hard to resist as some peoples photos have looked epic with it. I'm still holding out in hope due to what we know of Hot Toys history. They love to save special things for last.

Look at Batman, who'da thunked it... ¬_¬ a DX would have been revealed some good long time later.

I agree on holding out. I bought the second T-800 figuring that HT might not offer the clean clothes and head for a Cyberdyne, and if they do, oh well, I could sell it off or find some use for it myself, no biggy. From there, I already had a grenade launcher from the old Sideshow figure so I think it only cost like $50 extra in the end for the Cyberdyne parts I added, no biggy, and I still hope HT does them because they'll do them right, hopefully, most especially properly sized grenades, but sadly, I think that's a detail that'll continue to be off.

Have you got yours on display yet?

What grenades are you using in the bandolier Maulfan?

1/6 M79 Grenades

https://cgi.ebay.com/1-6-Scale-Hot-...ltDomain_0&hash=item4cf2fcb967#ht_1626wt_1141

They're too small though, going to keep my eyes out for those Solider Story ones aaron recommended.

I don't know if the issue is that they're out of scale in order to really load them into the grenade launcher or what, but they just almost look like bullets on the T-800, not like the movie grenades. Here's a comparison I'd done awhile back. The grenades here are the ones that came with the Coolmodel bandolier, but the ones in the eBay link that I am now using are pretty much same size, the real difference is color and the flat tips which are more true to the movie grenades. You can see they're just too small relative to the figure. Yes the figure is bigger in build than Arnie was in T2, but not so much to make that much of a difference if the figure grenades were really 1/6 the size of what he has in the film.

Great idea.
Let us know when you do.

Maulfan, great comparison shots.

I agree, I think the grenades Aaron got are more accurate and better compliment the T800 figure.

If HT does make a BD version of the police shootout, I hope they get it right. :)
