Oh it was opened alright. :lol

I opened it up last night before I went to bed and lo and behold the paper clip trick for the leather jacket collar had been done for this figure. The paper clip was in there and everything. Don't think Hot Toys did that.

I'm mildly annoyed, it's fine but that ain't no MISB.

Yep the paperclip definitely confirms it. Have you left feedback? Maybe mark him down for item description?

Can't find it now. It shows up on ebay once in awhile, but it's only getting less frequent. When they first announced HT T2 I looked on ebay and there were maybe 3. No way will you ever see that again.

But I was recommending that folks just bite the bullet and pay the $400. Because it really is incredible. And the pics don't do it justice. People pay the same for a Wolvie or a Blade so I didn't understand the resistence.

The assembly process is probably what dissuaded people. Most of us just don't have the ability to put these things together and paint them up.

Um..what is the paper clip trick?:dunno

And Ive noticed this happens a lot on evilbay. I swear I sometimes think that some people dont know what MIB and MISB really mean. I would definetly contact the seller. Id keep the figure as youve said there is nothing wrong with it but Id ask the seller what the deal is.

The T2 T-800 has a minor 'issue' whereby the collar of his jacket is too wide-open. The 2 sides of the coat on the front are too far apart compared to the way the coat sits on Arnie in any given scene of the film. By stretching out and manipulating a paperclip under the collar of the coat its possible to pull the collar in tighter and thus the 2 sides of the coat come closer together at the front for greater accuracy.

Yeah, afterall, when you buy this bike, Arnie becomes the accessory. :D

Thanks TFG!

This is why my preferance is the NECA head to use with the bike. My eyes are telling me its a closer match to the poster. Not the most ideal comparison though because the 2 pics were taken weeks apart in different rooms, different lighting conditions and one with a measly phone camera.

Yup, the NECA head definitely has better proportions, no doubt about that as far as Im concerned.
GREAT custom job you did there!

I would venture a guess and say the cam phone is the NECA head on the right (because there is more noise).

Great idea taking the pic at the same angle as the movie poster too.
Well done a-dev.

Yep, and for the sake of objectivity I concede that the NECA pic is the poor quality phone camera one and thus the inate flaws of the low-end NECA head are less apparent than they otherwise might be. I would have taken those pics on the proper camera but I'm getting some memory card error on it.

I wouldn't say "too wide" is the HT problem rather that the head is too short and the hair could stand to be longer and fuller. Regarding the hair though, that was a point of debate way back when the MMS117 was first shown and Maulfan posted a collage of closeup screengrabs of Arnie in T2 which demonstrated that his hair looked different lengths in different scenes throughout the film. So although the HT hair is too short to represent the movie poster it is perfectly fine for some scenes in the film. The problem of the short face remains though for me and some others.

Reaktwon mentioned a problem with the NECA heads mouth and jaw - Voorhees27 has the same issue with it, that its a bit exaggerated even cartoonish. I've always viewed it more as a scene-specific sculpt of Arnie in the Mall corridor as he strides towards T-1000 firing the shotgun - a kind of concentration face. The NECA pescadero figure was always promoted as from that very scene (apart from the name) with the 2 handed shotgun grip so thats why I believe that.

Like your effort right there, A-Dev and the outcome too, you did and amazing job of fitting the NECA head on the HT body, seriously, but I must say that I like the HT HS more.
Congrats on the job well done though.

Cheers Endo! Although putting the NECA head on wasn't difficult at all because the body is a standard HT truetype rather than the MMS117 body. All I needed was the usual HT neck connector and shaved a part of it down a bit so it could fit up inside the neck of the NECA head. Then it fits to the body just like any HT head with a sculpted neck such as the T-1000.

Cheers right back at you, buddy.
Yeah, I followed your posts, from when you first showed your "T2-Poster-Custom".
;-)
Saw your work on attaching the connector to the head and how well it fits the overall look.
The cherry on top of that would be to smooth the Neca sculpt and trying to get the paintjob on par with HT's, wouldn't it?

I also did a little on my cyberdyne bash. Since the little gloves I got aren't that bad, but they didn't fit that well either and getting the blade hands is a little hard now I tried the TDK Bats hands and I think they looks great, if not completely acurate, but who gives a damn.
Silvered the bandolier of the Coo M79 also and now all I need is the Travelers set.
:)

Indeed. If I do that it'll be a case of commissioning someone here. I've already thought of sending it to Greggo - he mostly does repainting, I'm not sure if he could smooth the skin (like laser resurfacing for acne scars!) and get rid of the seams running up the neck though. At the very least I'm sure he could improve the stock NECA paintjob.

All the best on your Cyberdyne bash, I think at this point its probably well worthwhile doing it. I can't see Hot Toys releasing another T-800 to cover that look. If anything at all it'll probably just be the BD figure.
