I JUST found out about the AC Adapter port on the stage... Why didnt HT mention it, like AT ALL?. Got him lit up with my charger for my buzzer was just the right voltage and amps to get it going.

No reason why these would necessarily be dodgy. Easy enough to make...the laser engraving is the only 'exotic' technique. Edge-lit signage has been around for ages and SMD LED strips are very cheap and available. So you really just need a base/housing. If these catch on I would hope for multiple sizes, mains power adaptor input and the option to provide your own art file for the engraving.
