The last thing any Wolverine figure needs is something else that could potentially **** up his likeness as PERS can (DX13 is an exceptional case to the rule on non-makeup wearing characters). They have enough trouble with Jackman's likeness as it is.

That's a good point.

While I agree a good sculpt is overdue, I'll take Dx if it gives me standard and battle damaged versions.

Wait, are you saying two versions of 70s Wolverine, or one 70's and one Battle suit?

The good news is that, since he's the same age, if they nailed a 70's Logan sculpt, or vice versa, they could reuse it for the other one. I actually thought Wolverine's future costume was pretty badass in this one.

I would guess since it's rahmier84s sculpt he would be the very best at it...though there are plenty capable or better painters. I do my own and friends so maybe u could try it. If not there are plenty of people that can. Look at all the customs in the custom wolverine thread .

I think Wolverine wearing a kind of body armor is silly if you ask me... but I agree it looks pretty radical.

I just bought The Wolverine figure. Excited to get it.

Just because u can heal fast doesn't mean you don't feel pain. If it where you would you rather heal from an injury or prevent it?

Especially when fighting for the survival of mutants and humans as a species against an enemy that is stronger and feels no pain. The less damage you take the longer you fight. Even logans healing factor can become overwhelmed, and cause him to loose a fight.

I understand. We have have our own little quirks. Lol

I wouldn't have personally opted for an armored look, but I understand why the film makers would go that way. Especially given the environment of the movie. And if I can I always look at it from as many view points as I can think of. And I know if it where me , if I had logans powers, I'd sure as heck wear armor. Especially given the fact he could and is subjected to more trauma then any other person. Your average person can die from as little as one gun shot/knife attack/nail in the wrong place and so on..and then that's it. Logan can be shot dozens, maybe hundreds of times in one fight. That's a lot of pain. Eventually it's going to overwhelm his/your nervous system to the point it shuts down or shock takes over...or you just quit. Lol I could see why someone like Superman wouldn't need armor, his skin is armor, but short of that I would think EVERYONE going into battle should have it. From a practical stand point. Why risk the trauma/pain when you could have prevented it?

I totally agree!

I am of the view that it's a matter of practicality that Wolverine wears body armor of some sort for battlefield excursions.

There seems to be the misunderstanding that Wolverine is impervious to harm, indestructible, or heals so fast that he is nigh unstoppable. However, his healing factor and his adamantium laced skeleton simply afford him an extremely high level of survivability. Now, survivability is not the same as being impervious to harm. He still suffers trauma from damage to his soft tissues, which is not normally shielded by body armor in the vast majority of the character's depictions.

His adamantium laced skeleton is "unbreakable" but that doesn't mean his joints can't get dislocated or that he can't be pulled apart since, as I understand it, bone isn't anchored to bone in the human skeleton. In the Ultimate universe, for example, the Hulk pulled Wolverine's body into two halves, separated at the waist. His adamantium laced skeleton also doesn't really protect his brain from the shock of impact so he can still be severely disoriented and/or knocked out by sufficiently forceful blows to the cranium. His healing factor deals with tissue damage and toxins in his system but it's not a catch-all "he can't be hurt" power.

So Wolverine/Logan/James is the best there is at what he does but he's still susceptible to harm and at the very least, he can be slowed down significantly and/or incapacitated when he is damaged severely. If he had appropriate body armor, he would be less susceptible to harm and less prone to being slowed down or incapacitated.

In addition to all that...I just think Wolverine in tactical body armor looks cool! :D
