I didn't get anything screwed up here, as bane was working with talia, whereas kurse was malekiths henchman.

I don't wanna tell you how to post, but heads up, your reply/style is a start off point to arguments. Don't see why you have to imply I was stupid and didn't get the movie.

As far as me implying you're stupid because I didn't think you understood the relationship of the characters is on you, if I thought you were stupid I would just say so, I've never been shy in a post, not once. I can be responsible for what I post, I can't be responsible for what you read between the lines, do I think you're opinion is wrong, yes, but everytime you disagree with someone does that mean you think they're stupid? You act as if I put a facepalm or failbus gif under your quote, I didn't even use a disdainful emoticon, can you have any thinner skin on a public forum? :lecture

As far as getting the point, again, Algrim was the strongest Elf, he was given the potion, he was killing people, but Malekith wanted to destroy everything in existence, hes the planner. Its just too bad he was so forgettable, probably one of the most forgettable villains in a Marvel movie.

He was too 1-dimensional. There was no purpose or drive behind the character other than "I want to return the universe into darkness." No reason behind it, whatsoever, and he didn't do much in the film. In the 1st film with Loki, there was so much drive going on behind the villain. Raised to be someone else since birth, always in the shadow of his brother due to this difference, wanting to prove himself worthy, wanting to be loved, etc. As an audience member, you can relate to this and therefore we care. Even in the 2nd, he clearly loves his mother and there's drive behind his character in helping Thor, but of course he is the master of mischief and trickery, and he still had his desire for the throne in the end, but we still cared for his "death" scene.

Exactly, they kind of set the bar high with Loki.
Beautiful movie otherwise, skipped Avengers Thor and can't wait to add this guy to my shelf with the original Thor. :clap

Hope it pans out that way! So excited for the third installment.
Thor and Thor 2 were great! :clap

:exactly: Me too! Thor is my favorite amongst the solo Marvel franchises right now. My only gripe about Thor 2 is that the events in the climax were obviously going to effect everyone on a global scale and many people were witnessing it! Soooooo.... Where was SHIELD and/or the other Avengers? Someone had to take notice of what was happening? How could you miss something like that?! I'd figure at least someone else would show up to help?!

Otherwise.... As I stated, LOVED IT! :yess:

It's not about having thinner skin or thick, its how your post came off to me, considering how my post wasn't directed at anyone but the movie itself, only to have you fire back with how i lost grasp of an "easy" concept. my post didn't have ANY undertones questioning your ability about understanding things. See what I mean here?

And your follow up point just proves my point even further. Everyone and their mothers can see what a disappointing villain malekith was to begin with, but oh hey, lets throw in a juiced up henchman that handed thor....THOR, one of the most powerful beings in marvel, his @$$...

My beef lies in the fact that ONE character basically made two characters into little b!7(#s. it was inconsistent and honestly marred my enjoyment of it. I liked the movie, but like I said, that flaw prevented Thor 2 from reaching legendary status in my eyes.

The movie was great but like someone said they set the bar real high with loki. Because of that i felt it was a little lacking in the villian department. Kinda didnt care about that guy. Still all the action rocked and it was enjoyable and i didnt walk out with my head down like with IM3.

They kinda put themselves in a corner there. Total destruction im IM3 and Thor 2 and no shield or avengers lol people are gonna be saying that about every marvel movie from now on.

It's already evident that Fury, SHIELD, and Widow are in Cap2 so they can't say that about that one.... :pfft: :yess:

Thor needs a much more powerful adversary to challenge him. Can you think of a character that would be a more suitable rival for the next film ?

Well, Odin said before the universe, there was darkness. So the Dark Elves were around before everyone else and pretty much kinda just missed living in darkness when all the other realms stared developing and all that. XD

Alright, so Jane said it's been two years after The Avengers and such right? The Winter Soldier also takes place two years after, so I think it's going on at the same exact time according to interviews, and it looks like SHIELD is going through a whole bunch of **** there so i'm assuming that's why they haven't been around during the whole Mandarin/Aether situations. Hope i'm not reaching too much...then again IM 3 takes place during Christmas but some time after Avengers...I so cannot wait to see the Phase Two timeline when that comes out eventually.

Kurse is far stronger than Thor in the comics. He only stopped handing a beat down on Thor because he remember Thor wasn't responsible for his predicament and thus felt no need to seek revenge. Certainly not inconsistent, very accurate because he made Thor 'into a little b!7(#' in both the comics and the film. And not even sheer power could defeat Malekith at the end so Kurse wouldn't have made him look like a 'b!7(#' then because Malekith was
defeated by science
more or less.

I thought this is a Hot Toys thread

...I am hearing that Malekith is a Star Trek villain in a Marvel film. Which isn't exactly good news for Malekith. Ah well, I will see for myself this weekend.

As far as "this is a HT thread," true but people discuss the movie in here and elsewhere because only certain people are allowed to post in the Movies forum. Everyone else is instantly pounced on and made very unwelcome; its not only happened to me, but I have seen it done to others. It is not a forum in which ideas and opinions can safely and pleasantly be discussed - sad but true. There are people in there that it is wise to avoid.

So, with that said they can unveil the new HT Loki any year now :)

I wonder if they're holding out on the Loki reveal due to accessories possibly spoiling the film since it just released in the US this past weekend. If that is the case, then I am very excited for what they may possibly include... my fingers are crossed.
