I will wait for the Armored version from AoU since it's the same costume and I prefer the silver highlights to the gold. Perhaps there will be improved articulation and other accessories. But with so many figures to be released for AoU [at least 2 Iron Mans, Cap, Ultron, Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Thor are locks. Maybe a new Hulk, Fury, War Machine or Falcon as well.] Perhaps they'll figure out swapable arms but I'm not betting on it seeing how complicated the shoulder mech is and I don't think there will be room to produce a variant like this both on the production side and on the collector empty wallet side.

I'm still betting this is will be only sleeveless Thor for the next 4-5 years, at least until Thor 3. Probably the only sleeveless one in this costume and maybe the only one HT will make at all.

Has it been confirmed that Thor's AoU costume will have silver highlights?

Could be an Ultron Bot??
The head isn't too bad but I'm not digging the body.

I've had a good record of avoiding double dipping with HTs 2.0 and improved versions. Passed on first Joker, Mark I, the first Batmans, and First Avenger Cap.
I'll probably get burned sooner or later but they're not going to get me with TDW Armored Thor.

Depending on the lighting in the film, dw Thor looked like he had silver accents instead of gold. I wouldn't put all my money on some crappy quality sweet pics that aou Thor will be silver...

AoU Armored Thor > TDW Armored Thor>Avengers Thor>V1 Thor

Isn't that the way it should work? If you keep waiting you'll never have anything. Buy and sell enjoy some figures pepes!

No.
The Thor 1 and Avengers Thor are different costumes. His AoU and TDW are the same. Just as Mk 6 from IM2 and Mk 6 from Avengers are basically the same (I just realized I did double dip on those and sold the IM2 version) :lecture

I'd be shocked if HT released a 2.0 version of Thor from Avengers or Thor. Not really going to happen so there is no "best" version to choose from. I saw the writing on the wall with Mk I, Joker and GA Cap and waited for the better version.

As a side note, HT's improvements in armored sleeves from v1 to v2 to v3 are impressive. I hope v4 will have even greater range of motion.

Because a better version of the same costume will be along next year. :duh

The AoU version will possibly have an improved headsculpt, improved articulation in the rubber armored arms, and more/better accessories.

Repainting the gold bits: buttons, boot trim, gauntlet trim and the chest piece is pointless and foolish, imo.

Anyone who used that logic with Loki is more than likely kicking themselves right now

Haha. Great point.

I got Avengers Loki because I wanted him to match up with the rest of the Avengers versions. I thought at the time they'd likely make another at some point but imagined his costume would be very different. I never thought they'd make one from TDW, that it would be the same costume with less pieces and include a worse headsculpt. :lol It's like HT made the 2.0 version first then then 1.0 step backwards version. Odd.

I predict this time next year many will be looking to unload their armored TDW Thors, maybe at cost or below, in favor of the new AoU Thor while the sleeveless TDW Thor will be skyrocketing in price.

Perhaps, but no HT Thor figure has ever set the house on fire for being a pricy figure. The V1 and the avengers are still plentiful and are easy to obtain today. I think the new TDW thor will be available when the avengers comes out next year. Thor while in spirit is one of the "Big Four" I doubt this light armor will command much premium.

If somebody wants a sleeveless Thor they can switch out a body and they are good to go.

I saw a better picture before the set photos were leaked, I can definitively say it's silver.
