The sculpt looks much better in motion than in pictures, overall looks like an awesome figure, but undoubtedly overpriced.

Some people don't really have an issue with the figure, but more so the price tag. [emoji51]
It's the same as what the DX11 cost and really you get a pretty full package for an MMS release and in terms of accessories it's pretty close in item count. You don't get the machine gun, butterfly knife, potato peeler, or the table and chair but there is still quite a bit here and the tradeoff for those missing items is the duffle bag and various grenades. Not that the price isn't high but I honestly don't get why some people are so appalled by it.

Because the price is appalling.

All that "stuff" is reused crap that's been included in other sets for years. The glock, the knife, the WSS notes, those damn hands etc. The original V1 was $150 with more or less the same stuff. T-1000 was $160 and more or less came with the same amount of stuff. DX 01 was $160 and came with the same amount of stuff, if not more. This is a standard MMS release with MMS expectations. It's a standard figure with a whole lotta reuse. Prices have been steadily rising for everything, true, but $100+? Nah. Not long ago, you could buy Luke Skywalker which was two whole figures, a big ole' antenna and lots of gear.

DX 11 wasn't cheap and a lot of people, including myself, ripped the price, but atleast it was actually new from head to toe (literally, those new shoes ended up being amazing). It had a newly sculpted heads, a more complex, tailored suit, a diorama that wasn't just cardboard, and new weapons/accessories, not to mention PERS and a light up base. If you bought the exclusive, you even got an additional mask and accessories. This being the same price is downright insulting.

I'm just saying it is a fairly comparable package regardless. It also is a popular character which people will buy and while it is expensive people who didn't get it the first time can now and get a slight upgrade in regards to the clothing and new head sculpts. You've aired your opinion over and over and over again and we all know you don't like the price. No one is making you buy this or anything else you don't like.

Well don't say you don't get why people are appalled by the price! It's bad. Comparatively speaking, the DX 11 still came with more and was a new, deluxe set. MMS 238 Terminator (which is hitting as we speak by the way), is all new, has two headsculpts, light up features, all the weapons and accessories he needs and is "only" $230. That's the perfect comparative package for modern figure pricing.

This Joker is a rip, their Bat is a rip.

But of course we all know you don't like it you've made that well known. My point was more just that people really shouldn't be surprised by what this costs since the DX11 was that price. You also have to take into account this character's popularity. Hot Toys takes advantage of that clearly but it's just how it is. Complaining isn't going to change that. Terminator while popular may not have the same mass appeal and isn't hot now like Joker or Iron Man or other big things at the moment.

And DX 11 was still a better deal if we take into account newness, value and "stuff".

And pricing things based solely on perceived popularity is a ***** move.

And complaining about and criticizing marked up prices is perfectly acceptable and fair game. I'm sure these companies don't lose sleep over it, look how unresponsive they are to their own QC problems.

It might be a dumb move to price things on perceived popularity but if they go off history the character sells. The thing that gets me with the complaining is you're complaining to fans not to the company itself. Thread craps get old after a while especially when you pretty much repeat the same points a bunch of times over. If people want it that's up to us to decide. If you don't whatever but what really is the point complaining to fans or collectors?

Well, c'mon, you mentioned how you didn't understand why people would think the price is appalling. Naturally I decided to chime in with the same crap I've been spewing for the past month. It's as simple as that.

I don't care if I'm repeating myself. I don't want to see fellow collectors let their guard down and slip into a trance where they think $300 for this type of doll is acceptable, because then it will be $320, and we'll argue if that is appropriate. Then it will be $350, and we'll argue about that too. If you don't clench your *** sooner or latter, you'll eventually get ****ed.

Now I have no problem with people that buy this and want it, it's their money and prerogative, but when I start to see glimpses of "I don't get why people would have a fault about this set" and then justify it like Jeff was doing, I'm gonna rant unapologetically as to why that's not true. I've got it to the point where I can just copy and paste my responses anyway. :lol

I get that and prices are something to watch out for. I guess for me it boils down to how much I like a certain film or character. I wouldn't pay prices like this on a consistent basis, but you have to know what your limit is for how much you want or are able to spend on this hobby (or any other hobby for that matter).

Anyone get their shipping notices from sideshow yet? They must have them in stock now if they were able to send one out to TheReviewSpot.

Yup, mine will be here Wednesday as well

Its getting to the point that DiFabio's posts are the only ones that are worth reading. :lol

Hey guys!,

Check out my review of the Hot Toys The Dark Knight The Joker (Bank Robber Version 2.0) Sixth Scale Figure, the alternate unmasked Joker head alone makes this a figure definitely worth picking up IMO
