Hyperbole.

I didn't really cave per se. I didn't buy this from Hot Toys and I didn't buy it from Sideshow. They didn't get my dollars, hence I didn't support them. The guy was always going to buy one, whether I saw his auction or not. Besides, the price tag was $220, not Sideshow's, ammirite?

Also, all the other folks that knocked this have kept their words. If there's some kind of opportunity where they can get this for "cheap" (or free if they don't sell), I still think they're of their word. The principle of the thing was that the price tag is way too much, if you're paying well below that price tag you're sticking to it I'd say.

As for Howard Chan, I'm not entirely sure the mark up was his fault. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this year's Toy Fairs exclusives were sold in Asia for about a $216 USD equivalence, just like last year's. Sideshow is the one that got greedy with their own markup (which they do with their own products now).

I was just having a little fun, doesn't really matter to me one bit if someone "sticks to their guns" or doesn't. One's perception of a figure/mind/heart can always be changed with more information.

This is a $300 figure when you factor in shipping and tax. And with what it comes with, I can see why a lot of folks took it personally. And it seems SS and HT are testing the market with this one. I suspect the ex fig for next year will be $350 + tax + shipping if the current trend continues.

Which is why I'm slowly trimming and getting out of the game.

No, you hurt my feelings. Gonna cut my wrists.

That's why so many people were busting on it. Plus, the improvements were minimal at best. Who knows if they learn their lesson?

Thats a pretty disappointing move by SS. But then again, sole distributors or agents are supposed to follow the principal's suggested retail prices normally. So I think HT was aware of what is happening and decides to let it slide.

Just like how foot locker and legit nike dealers are supposed to sell the popular Jordan retros in the suggested retail prices, and are not allowed to charge above retail or market value.

At least make sure you got the figure from the seller first.

Cant file paypal claims if you cut your wrists now, should the seller decide to send you bricks.

Well the good news is that it's still up on Sideshow, "shipping now". There's still hope that this one bit them in the ***. Then again, Python sold out super quick last month, so I doubt that deters them from marking up the ever increasing Iron Man product.

At $220, I'm pretty sure Toy Fairs Batman and Gordon were wait listed well before this point. So the lack of sell out could potentially be telling considering this is the Joker we're talking about. With that said, too early to say.

Wasn't Gordon 2011? Damn, that was a lot for a figure back then, even if it was a character that hadn't been released up until that point.

I complained about the price. I still ain't biting at MSRP. That's not to say I wouldn't bite at a price I can live with. Two hundred twenty is what it should have been priced, but the fact that I have the original means I still wouldn't have dished out the cash. I wouldn't have complained, however.

Thos who havent bought it already, best thing to do is hold off for now, at least that'll send the message to SS that this price range isnt acceptable for a bare bones figure like this one is, even though its 'the joker'.

Hold on, I just checked its on waitlist status now :panic:

Same here :duff

That might change though, I could see me buying the Mark 3 since I loved Iron Man 1, but even that I doubt I’ll get.

I have no problem with the Iron Man collectors, but it’s a bit strange when some of those guys come in here and start screaming “ripoff” even though they’re paying about an extra 70 dollars for a heavier figure with almost no accessories.]

I used points on this, so I didn’t end up paying the full price, but even if had to pay this one in full, I wouldn’t mind, it’s a pretty great figure.

Not sure if you are referring to me, but if you are, I still like you turtle man!

I did get the Mark 42 (my only IM so far) and yes, it was $310. I used points but that doesn't mean jack- It somehow makes me giggle when some say "but I used points so I didn't pay retail" no, you did. In a way. But that's another point.

It is a Diecast, newly molded figure that really feels amazing. Will I keep it? My gut says yes, he looks like the only IM I'll ever need. Is he overpriced? What isn't? But at least to me, he feels like something NEW.

This piece, on the other hand... Well, there's nothing more to say that I haven't already. But you kinda get my point, yes?

I'm happy u are happy. I'm happy some of you are happy with this. It doesn't make my life miserable or anything of the sort that other members are now buying this after literally crapping on this figure non stop -discount or not-. It's not my place to judge anyone. And it's not about holding to your guns or whatever. I firmly believe this piece is HT's way of saying "we can literally get away with anything at this point" and I'm in a way happy that I didn't help in that. And I'm one of the ones that "missed out" on the first one.

At least I can say that buying this, even at the ridiculous I price point (or not) is at least a better deal that those buying ED-209 fully knowing about what is going on with it. That I'll never understand.

This piece will hit the market place in full force, in no time IMO.
