I feel the same, i am very happy with stock figures. I wouldn't collect them otherwise. I never feel the need to get anything custom made to make them look better except maybe a cape which doesn't ruin the original figure usually. Its just not worth it to me to spends hundreds more (or thousands) on a figure to possibly make it look more accurate which can be debatable anyway any given day. To me its not about 100% accuracy, its about the love for the characters and movies. And HTs does a fantastic job with them. I consider these the best toys ever made. So thats why I love collecting them.
I'm the same way. I think and am told by others that I'm pretty picky and OCD about stuff but compared to some on these boards when it comes to this hobby at least I'm really not at all. For the most part the figures I've bought I've been relatively happy with out of the box. I never feel the need to mod anything and honestly wouldn't even want to try for fear of breaking or ruining something. I haven't bought any custom capes but that's about the only thing I've considered replacing a few times (still might get a different cape for my DX12 eventually). To me it seems like some people look too hard for imperfections on these figures, which granted I understand they do cost a lot and should be good for the money we pay, but nothing is ever going to be one hundred percent perfect and for the most part I think that Hot Toys does a pretty good job with what they give us.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 249 - The Joker (Bank Robber Version 2.0) - 1/6 - TF Exclusive...

While I agree with you that it captures the facial expression from the mob scene, it still doesn't look a thing like Ledger. I honestly don't get how anyone can like that sculpt but each to their own.

The PERS, duck jaw shape and tiny nose is what ruins both the likeness and realism of the DX11. Here is a modded DX11 with those issues fixed.

I agree but it is hard to see the likeness from the stock paint. The sculpt needs to be repainted to really bring out the likeness.

Even though it lacks the Joker personality look since it just has a neutral expression?

U just found this out? Where have u been?! :horror

I guess me and this guy have been at the same place because I don't remember seein this one either.

I'm probably gonna get hung for saying this, but..... Why don't people ever mod the DC direct joker sculpt at all? The hair and the missing keloids are the only thing that would need any fixin. C'mon people, the sculp was from a friggin face scan of Ledger himself. Don't get more accurate than that.

I've seen some repaints of the DC direct Joker, and I honestly don't believe it was digital face scan. I'm not saying it wasn't, but I just didn't see the Ledger likeness underneath the bad paint.

Jus look up dc direct joker repaint on google, and it'll come up. I forgot how to post pics here and am too tired to figure it out at this point.

Here it is. It looks good. J C Hong could do something amazing with it. Unfortunately, most people don't have his skills/talent.

The sculpt has the right shape. Maybe HT should use it a guide/ reference material.

It was actually said that it was in fact a scan, but way before production. To this day, this is one of my favorite figures, even though it comes with a terrible body and a lame paint job. Something about it really looks very natural. Sucks it's 13 inches! Otherwise, it would be an easy body replace.
