Yep, my thoughts are the same. I was fine with the idealized first sculpt, but seeing these side-by-side really illustrates that it looked nothing like Ford. The new one isn't perfect, either, but Ford is at least front and centre. I also think it's going to play a lot better once in-hand. Can't wait for this set. Hopefully it'll ship on time in 29 days for my final flex!

And also remember of course, the head will be much smaller than these pics we're seeing...everything won't look so blown up....I don't know if that will be helpful or hurtful...

New sculpt looks more like Ford, not perfect, but would be happy to see this on the shelf. It does remind me a bit of an Empire expression--seeing the sad puppy dog as others have said.

the scene with him and chewie is the main one I always think of when I think of Han from ANH...That or the scene of him kicked back in his chair in the cantina with a smirk or grin on his face...I would have liked the figure's hair parted down the middle like in the han/chewie scene...And maybe even a second headsculpt with a slightly open mouth or grinning with his teeth showing...These are the expressions of Han that I imagine when I think of him...Again, I do believe the new sculpt looks much more like Ford, Im just sayin and/or nitpicking...lol...

You do know that's not an actual "scene" from the film right? It's a promo shot. Just sayin'

Anyway, I am digging the new sculpt. Can't wait for these two!

I hadn't thought about that, no...But it's still one of the main images of Ford as Han that I think of...I always liked his look in that shot...the hair, the expresion....plus it's just a cool shot...

Surprised they resculpted the hair, at least the left side--maybe that's where I'm getting an Empire feeling. I do agree it looks like he's sucking on a Halls cough drop, but hopefully that's not the vibe in person.

Posted a few pages back that I was going to abandon the Star Wars line, but this has me almost changing my mind again. Sculpt looks way better, but not feeling the sad expression. He looks kinda bored. Probably waiting for Leia to get ready for date night. HT has problems providing us with dynamic expressions. First with the women from the Marvel line like Widow and Gamora, now this. Lots of collectors, like myself, will display this in an action pose, holding his blaster and firing at something. With this expression that would look kinda silly. Still doubting this though, but will have to make up my mind pretty soon damnit.

They lost some of the rough 1977 Han Solo "character" with the updated sculpt. This expression looks more like the Han we saw in Return of the Jedi.

This new hair would have looked great on the original sculpt.

It still looks cool though. I hope the Empire expression will be a bit more determined/badass gunslinger like when he pilots the Falcon or like when he's firing his blaster at Vader.

Looking at it again, they should have stuck with the original sculpt.

While the likeness wasn't captured 100%, they captured the CHARACTER much better with the original. The determined rogue who makes his own rules, standing next to the mighty Chewbacca. He really lost his edge after falling for Leia. He stopped going to the cantinas and everything.

Asked and answered. You can also thank "those guys" for the tweak because without the comments on FB HT wouldn't have touched it. What they previously showed was very much the final at the time - this release was pushed out.

How do you know it was "very much final"? Was it also thanks to you that they updated a hundred other sculpts over the years?

You're the same guy who said Hot Toys would never get the Star Wars license.

This sculpt will look great on the trooper. And just like the previous sculpt, I'm sure this one is even better in person.
