I look at it this way we invest into these collectables through out the years there like stocks.

Personally, I would never look at collectibles as an investment. While it's possible to make money on occasion this is nothing more than entertainment bought with disposable income.

What ^^^^ said! Anyone looking to make some $$$ of these over priced plastic dolls needs a financial adviser. FAST!!! The best I hope fore is not to take much of a lose if or when I ever decide to sell any of my collection.

Posting a digital copy of a sculpt is one thing, actually sculpting and painting is something else.[...]

No way I could paint a human head sculpt to Hot Toys quality. That said, I've been learning ZBrush to expand my 3D modelling repertoire, and will begin working on my own ANH Han head sculpt, just as an exercise, given how notoriously hard Ford is to get right. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

As an 'international' I've only made a profit maybe once in a very unusual case. Safest bet for me is to assume I would take a loss on anything I might sell - this helps me decide how much I really want something in the first place.

I said these as stocks as I don't plan to sell but financial times hit me and I needed to sell to make some cash and when I sold off part of my collection those pt stuff was popular enough to gang interest to my friend enough to buy them off of me

This makes me wonder, "Maybe if I just got Han, Luke, and Leia..." then the list immediately starts growing, "...and Obi-Wan.... and Vader..."

Exactly, you can't just buy one of these Star Wars figures. There's a necessary companion figure to virtually every single one of them. Buy one and you're in for a slew of them. I'm only in here out of boredom, won't be buying anything myself.

i really can't imagine Hot Toys bothering with a new sculpt for "Han in disguise"...

There was a pic shown at one of the cons recently that looked like the same sculpt but with a smirk. Maybe we'll get that--sort of a more minor sculpt change based on the same sculpt (sort of like the two Bespin Lukes head sculpts), but definitely don't except a totally new head. Would be pretty funny if they released the prototype head sculpt for the stormtrooper version.

I ordered them all... and still waiting on a Yoda & Jedi Luke. Sold off a bunch of my 6" and 3 3/4" Hasbro stuff to pay for all these new figures.

What sculpt are you guys referring too?

It was in the "ben training luke" display at Ani-con. Nobody noticed that it was different (and to be honest, I don't think we were 100% sure it was a new sculpt even with the pics zoomed in, but looked like it) so didn't take any closer pics only wide overalls. The best pic I found was in the budget stark video but even that was a bit grainy.
