Couldn't pass it up for the price? This bare-boned set is two hundred and thirty dollars. Where have we come to...

As in set I meant Han and chewie but I understand. I buy more customs than I do mass produced figures so this is not bad for me lol! To me $480 seems like a decent price for 2 figure and accessories.

I think it's the eyes again, and the hairline...

It might turn out to be one of those figures that looks better from certain angles. Plus, it's not too late to do a few tweaks here and there.

Looks better in this pic. I can see Ford in this. Preordered the set couldn't pass it up for the price. And the Han sculpt isn't spot on but its close I think.

Might turn out to look better from certain angles, and isn't spot on, but a steal at $230?

I don't feel "good enough" or "decent" is acceptable for such a high-priced figure from Hot Toys, especially one that doesn't even have an elaborate outfit or weaponry/accessories to redeem it. It's a vest, boots and pants, so the headsculpt becomes critical.

I guess fortunately, Han's outfit is so iconic you can instantly tell who this is, but if this was a figure with a generic business suit, no one would instantly pick this as HF. Han Solo deserves a HT home run and this isn't and I'm still trying to get my head around it.

I guess everyone will learn to love this sculpt - just some are faster than others and I have some catching up to do.:lol

The sculpt is pretty off imo. It's mainly the eyes and eyebrow/ridge that's throwing the sculpt off. Harrison Ford's eyes are bigger and they should slope down a bit from the end of the eyes. Same with his eyebrows. His eyebrows should be flat to sloping down cause he frowns a lot in the movie where the middle of his eyebrows curve up. And normally it's just flat.

The problem with the sculpt here is the eyes are too narrow (a common issue with hot toys sculpts like the upcoming bruce wayne figure in the armory) and the eyes and eyebrows from "some angles" look like it's slanted up. Whereas they should be slanted more down instead of up.

If you look with the headsculpt from below it looks a bit more accurate cause it looks like the eyes are less slanted up from that angle. But when we look at the sculpt from above it looks like the eyes are more narrow and slanted up, which doesn't look like HF at all. His eyes in this sculpt looks a bit like Keanu Reeves from certain angles.

Also the hair color is WAY too dark. It should be of a lighter brown color.

Overall, his face should also look older and the nose needs to a be a "bit" bigger. Even in a new hope he didn't look this young. But yeah, the eyes and eyebrow area is the biggest problem right now.

On a side note, Chewie's face also look really off. Chewie's eyes and eyebrowns (contrary to han here) looks way too droopy. He looks like the sasquatch from Harry and the Hendersons with those eyes. He never looked like that in the movie.

For the crazy prices we pay for these figures I think we should expect more, especially for such an important character. I'm gonna hold off from ordering and see if they make any fixes to headsculpts of both figures first to see. It would have been nice to see a second headsculpt to come with the Han figure too. He's one character where having say a headsculpt with a grin would go great with a neutral headsculpt. He already didn't come with much accessories as it is. What Okko showed above is a perfect example of what i said. Bigger eyes and should be more shaped down on the side of the eyes instead of slanting up. eyebrows should be level and not slanting up. and hair should be a lighter brown color. "maybe" a slightly bigger nose and face.

This small eye problem exists with the bruce wayne sculpt too unfortunately.

I think the facial expression is boring. What we need is this expression for better action poses.

Did HT actually get the likeness rights or is this an Edward Scissorhands style product where they're making the character but having to deliberately put out a sculpt that doesn't resemble the actor?

C'mon man. Now, you're just being silly. Of course they got the likeness rights. . .unfortunately, it was from the Jim Morrison estate.

- instead of using faux or real leather, make the boots like Hot Toys Reeve Superman and Hot Toys Keaton Batman
.

DID uses real or faux leather for all their German boots and they look great there, no reason it cant be the same. Its whatever specific material HT chose to use thats wrong here.

- tweak/resculpt the sculpt of the portrait and hair to make it look like Harrison Ford
- lighten the hair
- make the true type have thinner arms that taper at the wrists
- have the shirt be cream colored instead of white
- instead of using faux or real leather, make the boots like Hot Toys Reeve Superman and Hot Toys Keaton Batman
- make the hands smaller

Then, Hot Toys Han Solo would be perfect.

And all of those changes are highly doable for HT

Well as much as I think the likeness of ford is in there my brother today told me it looked like john stamos :slap
So might as well add that to the list of names :lol
