CCFL sabers look like what you saw in the movies. This saber will probably have a hint of light on the blade and act a bit like a flashlight with a faint beam coming off the tip. There's no comparison. There are a few interesting ways to make an LED provide better lighting in a blade/shaft, but this isn't any of them. Sideshow have previously made the same arm/saber setup and it looks like HT got the design from them.

From the pictures I've seen your sabers look really good! Definately going to need one of those for my eventual Darth Vader.

This is a beautiful figure, and I think all of the Hot Toys heroes together will look stellar; that said the likeness isn't quite there. Typically of Hot Toys, it's a touch idealized, he looks a little young in some shots...these are nitpicks. If I was in the market for Obi Wan I'd buy it. Congrats to those who get this, I think it'll be a fantastic display piece. Nice to finally see some shots of the released figure.

Good point about the HT saber design looking like they borrowed from SSC.

If it looks cool in the end, who cares. That said, I might give you a buzz for one of those CC sabers one day PP. :lol

Per usual, I think he looks fantastic while everyone's talking about how it looks nothing like him.

I don't see anything wrong with it, sure its not perfect but what is these days. It looks like obi wan and looks like Sir Alec which is good enough for me. I can't to get it later this week. The saber also doesn't look HUGE for the light up, granted i'll never use it besides pics. The saber was pretty clunky in size anyway

Greatest contrast comes comparing the two regular loose hilts to the one integrated with the hand. The loose ones look somewhat like the prop, and the one in the hand looks like Mag Light Flashlight that your friendly neighborhood cop will beat you down with (US only).

I think the robes need dipped in a washbath and scuffed, they are way too clean. Adding some white paint to his face will really help with the aging. He looks so much younger I think due to not enough pronounced white coloring.

The sculpt is there I think, this time to me HT's paint is somewhat failing a bit. And the wrinkly hands are freaking me a bit.:lol

Can't say it looks that big from pictures, your sabers are superior. It certainly doesn't bother me though as i'll only ever use the loose hilt, only thing that turns me off cathode is all the wiring to hide just for a photo op, so the HT effort will do for me.

If you want only a photo-op, in the case of this figure, it's easier and will look better to just take a photo with one of the regular hilts in hand and add the lighting effects via Photoshop. That's how almost every lit saber image of him has already been done.
