I sold mine less than a week after receiving it. It's a lovely figure for sure but, when standing next to the 89, I couldn't help but feel that I'd spent a lot of money to have two of the same - it just didn't look different enough. I only need one Keaton so I decided to sell it now and make my money back.

I also hated the boots and lack of ankle movement - and I still can't put my finger on it but I felt that there was something slightly off about the cowl - still trying to figure it out.

Did anybody else's cape smell funny?

I got 2 of the dx 09s when they were 1st released, being a massive batman fan. But j sold them within a month, they didn't fit in with my Nolan batman collection and I always preferred the returns version.
I got two of these now and I got the batmobile in November to go with one of them while I display the other inch detolf.
I agree with you though just prefer the returns over the 89 suit

Finaly i cancelled my PO... Eight months ago i was super excited when i PO this returns version. I thought it would be great next to the batmobile ( and i'm sure it is) but a few weeks ago i re-watched the movie and even if they are great moments in the movie, it left me a strange taste in mouth. I think i realised that for me returns is much more weak than 89. I don't like the suit as much as the 89. The movie is too long and boring in it's second part, the vilains are much less charismatic than the joker.
Even if it's still full of nostalgia, the magic does not work anymore as 89 wich is so iconic for me.
I have to recognize that the returns version is a really great job. It's absolutly Keaton under the mask but as i already have one keaton and DX09 is still my favorite, i don't think i would have the same desire to keep it. But congrats to those who have PO this figure!

Seems like there aren't a lot of happy campers with this figure. Maybe chance it out and wait for SSC to discount to get rid of their stock? Or would it be easier/better to part out the body earlier than late? I already bought the DX09 body, gauntlets, and boots to combine with parts of this one so if I purchased it as a whole, I was going to sell the body and maybe some accessories.

I'm pretty sure it's got no more qc issues than any other release. I also doubt it'll end up being reduced in price, I see this as one of the few hot toys these days that will sell out & raise in value over time. It's not a big line for them & the numbers they make of it will be reflective of that.

Yeah I agree, You see it all the time. The guys that wait the extra months for sideshow to distribute them, lament on the photos/accuracy/qc issues & then they get them in hand & pretty much all is forgiven.

Even with all the worry on the Wayne head and googly eyes on Batman, I never intended on cancelling. I'm just glad both turned out much better than we anticipated. Wayne's likeness isn't bad, and is at least an improvement over the ugly ass proto. I was worried about Batman have goofy eyes, but it turned out that some photographers gave him crossed eyes.

By the way thanks to everyone who offered words of sympathy here, I know I didn't directly respond to you all but I did read your comments. Heck I ignored other people's QC concerns until it happened to me, so thanks to you chaps.

After reading about the issues you had with yours I thought I'd better open up my second one.
It's actually perfect, no loose gauntlet fins like my other one & absolutely perfect. Really sorry yours arrived the way it did-that totally sucks.
But you should definitely go for a replacement over a refund, this things a beast & ul be more than happy with it when u get a perfect one

I would say March for Batman. I still haven't received HT Darth Vader...I bought mine from LCDN

Yeah, that was the issue with early photos like Jingobell's. They weren't exactly straight and made them look wonky. But that straight on shot is great.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered this.

DX09 looks great, but I like the sleek finish, sharper lines, and simplified bat symbol on this one, and it ticks the boxes for '90s, Batman & Burton all at once. If a miracle happens and Catwoman ever gets made (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa) I'll be set.

I'm concerned about the lack of ankle articulation, but I'm a neutral poser in general, and while losing out on the subtleties of ankle articulation is a problem for me, realistically speaking I was only ever going to pose Bats looming/brooding/shadowy anyway.

I hope I've made the right choice. Still cheaper than springing for a DX09.

Personally I am liking the returns version more and more. It does look / is looking sleek and classy compared to dx09 in most of the pics! Also I was never find of the abs on dx09 they just looked to cartoonish (at least to me)
Also - either with hot toys catwoman (if and when she comes) but more importantly I will display him (on a higher base) with the Twitter head catwoman (that pose and base for her is quite sexy and travor nailed the sculpt). So all in all I am going to have only one Keaton batman and that will be returns + catwoman (Twitter and HT( If and when)
