Yeah, that was the issue with early photos like Jingobell's. They weren't exactly straight and made them look wonky. But that straight on shot is great.

The eyes are poseable individually like the hulk and the qs001 etc, so if the eyes look "wonky" ever it's because there posed incorrectly

Yes, I used to think the DX09 cowl looked realistic but this new PERS, mouthpiece and cowl design on the BR is so realistic I feel when I position the eyes right it makes he feel like I have a 12" Keaton in the BR suit.

I prefer the sculpting of the DX 09 face. The shape and paint looks better too, more like Keaton.


The eyes and cowl sculpt on the Returns is amazing and superior though, really sharp.

IMO they both look like Keaton as Batman from two different films with two different cowl designs, I can't agree that the shape looks more like Keaton on the DX09 because the cowl is different, make no mistake this BR cowl looks just as much as Keaton in the BR suit as well.

Either one gives you the factor that it is Keaton in the suit. Whether BR or Batman 89

And just like the film's he did look different in each

I'm going to say that the Keaton likeness and mouth sculpt on the Returns Batman is better than the DX09. Not by a huge amount, to say that would be a disservice to the DX09 which is itself excellent. But Returns is nevertheless a little better.

There is definitely a longer philtrum region on the Returns sculpt, not sure if this is accurate to Keaton though or if it's entirely down to the different cowl designs or what. Someone with better knowledge by all means step in here.

As on overall figure I might give it to DX09 because it was the first and because it hasn't exactly been trounced into the mud by this later figure. This figure is more like another opportunity to get Keaton Batman than actually being an improvement. The DX09 has similar mouth pieces but the expressions were based on common photos from Batman '89 and one of the faces had the blood to set it apart. The Returns figure has 2 mouths that, without battle-damage, are so similar as to render one of them utterly pointless and this is a problem when one considers the options they could have gone with from pictures that have been on the internet for years now. They could have provided different expressions which would set this figure apart a bit more. It was already up against it by looking so similar to the original outfit anyway (except under close examination) so Hot Toys kinda failed on that point.

Forget articulation. If that's what you're after or if you're dissatisfied with Hot Toys for not putting in the work to achieve an articulated figure with an undersuit and separate body armour then skip this figure. The underlying body might be as articulated as any TrueType but the outfit simply won't allow for it. The legs immediately revert to a close-together stance and yesterday when I had the elbow bent for even an hour the crease of the elbow appeared to result in a ''sweat'' which I would be concerned about long-term. It's a museum pose figure without a doubt.

But with a decent cape it will look fantastic just standing there.

After watching a comparison video and seeing more shots, I'm glad I pulled the trigger. Looks very sharp and will display nicely amongst other iconic heroes.

And yes, DX09 and Nicholson Joker look incredible together. You know what'd look better? BR and Catwoman. (Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaa).

The biggest thing going for br at least to me is the logo ... Way way sexier bat... The 89 had way too many things going on in the logo. Lastly one way or another and I said it before my dream combination is Keaton and cat woman - Tweeterhead and hot toys (if and when) - so that's all I am aiming for! Hope they really really do the cat woman as I need both twitter head and ht posable one.

I think you're right about that. Some photos of the DX09 to me tend to look a little odd, and it is probably the lighting. As for this, it's sleeker style and more shimmering surface make it look pretty in almost every photo, no matter the lighting.
