I think you're right about that. Some photos of the DX09 to me tend to look a little odd, and it is probably the lighting. As for this, it's sleeker style and more shimmering surface make it look pretty in almost every photo, no matter the lighting.

I think the PERS is a difference maker IMO so much more realistic in BR

It's all about the eyes for me when it comes to Keaton as Batman :lecture

Very close to pulling the trigger. Could anyone tell me if the stock cape is able to acomplish this type of pose, both sides of it close together covering the whole body? A pic would be appreciated.

Not really because of the plate design of the symbol, too thick causing separation of the cape on each side.I might be able to get closer but just a tad with the MEI cape though because Tony's looks like it could lay flush on the chest. But no Keaton suit design was made to cover his body because the symbol was always designed to stick out.

In other words if you want this look from the BR bats, you're investing in the wrong figure. It's not going to happen go with the SSC Batman if this look is what you want, that figure can achieve this look :lecture

That could be it too. All PERS have had that same gray white lined eye color mostly, so them using Keaton's actual eye color brings it together. I wonder if free moving PERS is going to be a thing. It's the safer option since you don't need to worry about breaking the mechanism now.

:exactly:

It all comes together in a unique package when the PERs are individually slanted

superb photos. I can see there are improvements over the DX09 I got.
I find the eye detail and eye system, together with the posable ratchet arms, are the best improvements.

If only this figure came accompanied by a good Selina Kyle...

I believe this one will not be better than the DX09, overall, unless another figure of BR is released.
The feel of DX08 and DX09, together, has yet to be topped...

If I could only have one, I'd pick Catwoman over Penguin.

I'm relatively new to hot toys, guys, but I've been noticing that almost anyone who has got a Batman fig, also has a Tony Mei cape to go with it. How does one go about getting one of these capes? Are they super limited and how much do they usually cost?

[email protected] Tony will send you a list of all his available capes for each of his characters including the prices.

They're like 50 60 bucks for a piece of cloth lol

Maybe I'll make due without one. Lol

I'm not the only one, apparently.

Don't mean to stir any pots, but as a maker of things, I'm trying to work out the actual cost to make a cape:

1. Research (time spent).
2. Accurate pattern drafting and cutting.
3. Materials sourcing -- either time spent or cost of travel.
4. Travel time/cost or shipping cost to obtain material. (see above)
5. Cost of material and any consumables (i.e. thread?).
6. Prototyping.
7. Labour for finished product. (Accurate cuts -- plus is there stitching involved?)

Low volume sales make low cost production unprofitable.

Fifty to sixty bucks does sound steep for a piece of cloth, but it's a niche product for your niche product that someone has to make by hand.

Were I in the same position as Mr. Meis, I probably wouldn't bother doing it for less.

I agree that it's expensive, but I can't see why anyone would make and sell these for less. :dunno

Well I hate dealing with clothing. My strengths have always been painting and sculpting. Don't have the patience for clothes and tailoring. I'm fine with Tony's cape techniques. Don't mind spending the money. I'm only going to do it once in a while.

IMO Tony's cape took my MOS custom to another level :clap

His BR cape will be my first Batman cape from him so bring it on!

Incredible! I'm going to ask him if it's possible to do more Supes capes (maybe he will because of the upcoming figures). I can't believe that sculpt too! Where can I get that?

I don't have to ask, Tony will be on HT B Vs S line like a bat out of hell :wave

What sculpt?

Maybe it's the lighting in your pics, but your MOS head sculpt looks strikingly screen accurate. I'm not sure mine looks as good.

:wink1: It's actually the HT sculpt however I added a touch of black highlights on the top, on the sides and around the sideburns and front bangs and fringe to give him that natural slicked back look. When the light hits it right it goes from shining to natural tint IMO.

Finally seen this in person. I still don't like the Keaton sculpt and the Bruce Wayne figure over-all, but Batman looks really good. Can't wait for my PO to arrive, will have it displayed next to the 1989 Batmobile and will just put 1989 Batman and Joker in a detolf shelf.
