Y'know, I will no longer blame Hot Toys for what they are making or don't make - I will be more appreciative of what they do make for us in the US/UK/Europe - but I will still say this as I have said all along - **** Iron Man. **** Iron Man hard. I loathe him.

Great point about Pacific Rim. I think NECA got the jump on them with that one. I wonder what the age demographs are for Iron Man over in Asia.

I hope this Batman/Bruce Wayne does well. The Keaton DX 09 Keaton and DX 12 Bale seemed to be positively received as far as sales go. U.S, UK, Asia, etc. seemed to eat them up. Not sure how the Armory (prices and size might have been a turn off) and Arkham sets are doing sales wise, but I'd hope this Keaton 2.0 would fair pretty well.

Then again, there's nothing to really make Batman relevant until next year. Is Asia into games like Arkham?

Between how Stark is acting in the movies now AND all this focus on the character's toys/merchandise, I agree. Maybe that's the intention for next year? I really hope Captain America puts this little ****er in his place.

I think Iron Man is popular in Asia because of the robotic look, but also because Tony is a suave, sophisticated Billionaire lol.

I recently read that they were going to be showing Star Wars for the first time in Chinese cinema before the release of TFA. So it's no wonder the franchise is not that popular because the people didn't grow up with it.

I enjoy the Marvel releases by HT, but yes, they do focus too much on Iron Man. Obviously it's their biggest seller and they have to produce for their market, but if you don't collect the character, it can be annoying to wait for so long for things you do like.

I like iron man...but the way how HT focuses on him is grinding my gears and I'm beginning to get IM fatigue.

IM is loved by all ages here. Although, Marvels/Disneys handling of captain America have made a bunch of children I know here fans of Him...and they LOVED IM.
Nolans batman was a big success here. the MMS series, the DX series, and now the armory. The best selling armory set is the one with batman. The other two did decent to not so well. One came with Alfred, and the other is expensive. Keaton on the other hand was a strange beast. Initially he didn't sell all too well. I was able to get him (a little less than MSRP) MONTHS after release, whereas the Nolan series you had to PO or you were effed. It wasn't until these past two years did Keaton batman become harder to find and increase in price. So that one is an anomaly in terms of China's collecting habits.

As for arkham...based on the asking price on taobao...he's gonna do MUCH better than Keaton batman...but not as well as Nolans batman. I could be wrong since he JUST came out, meaning every a$$hat seller will immediately jack up the price (like they do for ALL HT releases) for those that didn't PO and see how far that goes.

Like TDW thor, MoS series...within the first few months of release, their prices are jacked the hell up...and when units haven't moved, they drop down back to MSRP and below. You wouldn't believe how much some sellers are offering zod for. I've seen him go for $140. Brand new. I'm dead effin serious haha. I'm considering getting a second one BECAUSE of that price tag.

This is all a guesstimation: since many here have played AC...I can see AC bats be a decent seller in China. Because it's a nice figure and its recent. But We will find out in a few months haha.

I don´t know but, somebody can tell if it´s the keaton ht head, because if it is, why is so different from the other pictures, this is the best keaton hs

It's a Hot Toys head, yes.


JC Hong's backstage photo vs. Specs/prototype pics










Hong stated on different social network sites that he's painted multiple heads for their production. If you look, you can see noticeable differences with paint and sculpt (like the hair for example).

What we'll end up with remains to be seen. It'll be a surprise most likely.

Thank you man, so I will buy the head maybe (just if it looks in the hong pics); it worths a lot; I want just this beautiful head for my 89 batman and waiting for the chilly bird and the feline

These would be good indicators of what to expect. Wolverine, Blake and Murphy are out now. Not sure how well the production head hold up to these painted prototypes.













If the production pieces hold up to those shots, then hopefully that's the case for Bruce Wayne too.

And your correct. Same heads. Just different paint treatments. They do dozens before they chose one look and paint process for the final production run.

Can't be the same exact sculpt. Like Rorywan and others stated, the one JC Hong shared has completely different hair (look at the shape, flow, it's also without random strands at the fringe), a vein in the temple, and other subtle differences, most notably the shape of the eye sockets.





It's also painted a hell of a lot better.

Specs/product pics version looks like it has rough pock marks in comparison.




Those two are about as similar as these two Hot Toys headsculpts are,
