He did not get his face fried. That was his real appearance. Using a Dark Side is not without side effects :) That grandpa pretty face was just a sith alchemy and illusion.

I don't think so..nothing wrong with his face when he's with the Sith

His Dark Side mask was still on even with his apprentices. He only sheds it to make Anakin feel compassion for him and to trick the Senate into believing the Jedi's attempts on his life left him scarred and deformed.

Force Lightning doesn't melt your face. That's why Luke looks perfectly fine after his encounter with Palpatine

Eh, I take the movies for what they are.

People always play up Palpatine like he's some great, all-powerful Sith and completely disregard the other great Jedi. Palpatine's true power is patience and calculation, in my honest opinion. He spent many decades planning out his conquering of the galaxy and the Jedi.

Don't get me wrong, he was a powerful Sith, but I will never buy into the fact that he could have taken out either Yoda or Mace on his own. It just makes ALL three characters boring and pointless to me, during the Prequels, if I accept Palpatine as some bloated, unstoppable villain.

He was an old, tactical Sith that could manipulate people and electricity. Oh, and he could use a saber with the best of them.

As for the face aspect of the character. Yeaaah. Sith can suppress their Dark Side eyes, but a human masking his entire face in some convoluted dark side manner is an area I just don't think the films would explore. I'm pretty sure George was speaking metaphorically and didn't literally mean Palpatine was that hideous before the battle.

That's not to say suppressing your inner Dark Side when always in close proximity to the Jedi isn't a feat unto itself though. There was only one instance I can recall where anyone might have even suspected him before episode 3 and that was Yoda, in the scene from AotC where Palpatine is making his plea to Padme and spits out the very thing she's about to say, word for word. Ultimately, he seems to brush it off as coincidence because he couldn't sense anything from him, I think.

Anyway, it just plays out more theatrically if Palpatine is a flawed character and not some uber villain, in my opinion. And I much prefer Mace having ****ed up Palpatine's face to some half-cocked idea of illusionary Sith magic. :wink1:

Oh, one last thing. Palpatine didn't let Mace win. Even with his foresight, there were no guarantees that Anakin would show up in time, much less kill Mace. Anakin came there to make sure Mace simply arrested the chancellor. What happened had to happen. However, before Anakin shows up, Palpatine was pretty much giving Mace everything he had.

I concur with this assessment.

I also think that AD was indeed a good choice for bearing a likeness to pass as the offspring of Han Solo and Leia Organa.

Seriously. They really do look like father and son.

Superb casting.

No they do not. One guy has a extra long weird looking face. The question is who is really his father?

Luke's entire body was bombarded , not directly to his face and it richoceted off the metal it was hitting as well, even Yoda said too Luke upon death

" Do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor..or suffer your Father's fate you will "

and how do we know that Luke wasn't using a force shield to protect himself from the force bolts somewhat like they said Anakin and Obiwan had that power. But the power was too great. Perhaps it was the duration of the emperor's bolts weren't hitting Luke long enough to cause serious damage.

But it was strange that Luke was just letting himself get hit with the bolts when the emperor said " Your feeble skills are no match for the powers of the Darkside of the Force! " why would he say this unless he felt Luke was trying to protect himself somehow.

Sideshow needs to ditch UPS Ground. My Sandtrooper will take a over week to get here. USPS Priority Mail gets stuff from California in less than 3 days.

USPS is garbae. They deliver packages to the wrong addresses, lie and say no one was home when they really did not attempt to deliver the package or deliver days after the scheduled delivery date.

Luke wasn't using anything to protect himself. He was literally dying. Palpatine says that to mock his Jedi training.

More importantly. Who is his mother? That guy looks nothing like Leia.

Ok well maybe the hair but that's it!

You have proof, for someone who almost looked like he was dying he certainly looked healthy dragging Vader to the shuttle, just winded. I think he was protecting himself a little.

We will never know

Personally, I think that's looking a little too much into it. I just simply take it for what it is. As SNIKT1950 mentioned, I also believe Palpatine made the "feeble skills" comment to mock Luke's Jedi training, and the hope that Luke would be the one to topple Palpatine and Vader.

I just take it for what it was: Palpatine was giving Luke a healthy dose of force lightning. Finding himself in almost exactly the same situation as he did in RotS with Palpatine and Windu and seeing this as his chance to redeem himself after feeling like he destroyed and lost everything that he once had and loved after choosing Palpatine, Anakin intervened to help save his son because if he didn't, Luke would have ultimately been killed. Simple as that to me.

You've got all these other business who have free shipping on orders above $35+, $50+, and if they're not free then they are usually very reasonable prices like BBTS, who even goes the extra mile and boxes your shipper.

Funny you mention this about shipping prices. I just ordered the lego Ghostbusters Firehouse and it was free shipping on orders over $75. And that box is huge from what I've seen.

I've unfortunately grown to accept the increasing costs.

I don't even understand why people are bringing up physical similarities. Recessive genes are a thing. I am sure everyone here knows at least one person who looks drastically different from their parents.
