Seriously. They really do look like father and son.

Superb casting.
Yip. I agree. Good casting!
I liked Drivers performance in the film.

I don't even understand why people are bringing up physical similarities. Recessive genes are a thing. I am sure everyone here knows at least one person who looks drastically different from their parents.

:exactly:

Even though I still think there's nothing wrong with AD's looks to pass for Han and Leia's offspring.

Also I don't know if it's been mentioned but the actual finalized script is on the Web to read. It doesn't really have anything the novel doesn't already have but it's still a good read.

Kylo TAKES OFF HIS MASK. Han is JOLTED -- seeing the face
of his son for the first time as a man.

KYLO REN
Your son is gone. He was weak and
foolish, like his father. So I
destroyed him.

HAN
That's what Snoke wants you to believe
but it's not true. My son is alive.

HAN
Snoke is using you for your power.
When he gets what he wants, he'll
crush you -- you know it's true.

Kylo hesitates. Somehow, he does know it.

And after he kills Han

Kylo Ren is somehow WEAKENED by this wicked act. Himself
horrified.

I just can't imagine they just turning him into a straight up evil bad guy going forward. All of this stuff with him struggling will just have been completely pointless otherwise. And Han's death will have been pointless. I'm not saying I think he turns good guy Jedi but I could see them doing a sort of Gray Jedi/Ventress/Tano thing with him.

If they do decide to just make him go full dark side baddie I wouldn't be surprised to see him kill Snoke.

I agree if anything I thought the scenes with Rey using the force seemed more darker, I think Rey is going to be a real struggle harnshing her power. I think Rey will show her evil side while training.

Also did this really seem as dark as Empire, I don't think so. The trailers made it seem it was going to be so sad, you put aside the Han, Leia, Ben storyline, it really wasn't all that sad. It reminded me of ANH more than ESB, surprised people are relating this towards ESB.

It felt like ANH to me except without a happy ending.:dunno

Only he isn't a Sith Lord, he is a Knight of Ren. He isn't a Sith at all. :lol

I got more of ANH feel from it as well. Aside from the general plot, the film essentially introduced the new "hope" in this next trilogy, that being Rey. Finn as well, I suppose one could say. There were some scenes though that were reminiscent of ESB. I thought the confrontation for instance between Han and Kylo felt sort of similar to the scene in ESB when Vader revealed to Luke that he was his father and was imploring him to join the dark side, just the roles were reversed. The fact that it took place on a bridge also helped give it that feeling.

I actually liked that closing scene between Rey and Finn, he wasn't even awake and she whispered " I will see you again "

I thought it was a nice twist that already so early there was a separation with the new main characters.

Possibly? I haven't payed much attention to any source material outside of the films in many years.

I'm not sure I even know what the **** the Knights of Ren actually are. A new take on the 501st is all I've been able to gather from a search just now. :lol

That whole vision Rey had of them was strange..not sure if it was the past or future in Episode VIII.

JJ definitely channeled Aragon's fate being pictured in the FOTR in that moment IMO as well.

Snoke did say he labeled Kylo because they were his Knights, so I imagined they would be a big powerful group :dunno

Same here.

I'm not too well versed in the expanded universe beyond RotJ. Not even sure if the KoR are even mentioned in the initial expanded universe, or something that was created for the new expanded universe that's now being depicted in the film(s). I do know that in the original expanded universe, Ben was actually the name of Luke Skywalker's son that he had with Mara Jade and that Han and Leia also had children, two of them which were named Jacin and Anakin. I can't recall if they also had a daughter. However, that's all pretty much been rewritten now, being that TFA depicts a different set of events and characters. If Rey is indeed Luke's daughter, it still leaves room for her mother to possibly be Mara Jade, being that her mother was never mentioned nor implied.

It's possible that Kylo is indeed a Sith, but I was under the impression anyone that is a Sith Lord has a handle that begins with "Darth".

If Rey's vision of this was the future..this proves that Kylo will have the mask on again

I hope these aren't the Knights, because they look weak

This was the past. You can see the dead bodies of the Padawans lying around them...I think its clearly the scene where Kylo slaughters all the training Jedi.

As a side note.....I found myself a bit disappointed in Kylo getting scarred....would be nice to have a regular old human evil person.....(Dooku was the only one). An personally I hated his character (love Lee/Hate Dooku). Hell how about a good looking evil person?

There is a not in the screenplay about Rey hearing the Dark side tell her "Kim Him" in the moment she overpowers Kylo....
