I love him. Like a shrunken down character ripped from the movie. Can't wait for the others to start dropping.

Anyone been successful in getting him to hold rifle up like he is shooting and looking thru scope supporting with other hand? Seems impossible due to backpack.

Backpack is just held on by magnets so it shouldn't keep it from that pose. The fat suit underneath probably would. I haven't tried that one but it was hard enough getting him to hold the rifle with two hands so it would be tough for the aiming through the sight pose.

Sorry...I mean to refer to the packs on the front, not the backpack.

The desert sands of Tatooine and Jakku are definitely different. :lecture

I actually think the hue of the sand should be switched. Tattooine to me seemed to have the lighter colored sand.

Couple of quick pics I took the other day of the Jakku Trooper on display with the HG Stormie.

Nice comparison pics. Looking at those 2 figures side by side it just reminds me how great the original trilogy really was. The designs are classic. The new ones feel sterile to me, too sleek and futuristic for my tastes. It's like they were designed by Apple. I still haven't completely ruled out picking this one up but I'm leaning towards sticking to kylo, rey/bba, and old han/luke. Speaking of, hurry up with the old dudes hot toys!

Isn't that the point? To make them look futuristic being that TFA takes place 30 years in the future from the OT?

With the Apple reference, think of how cell phones looked in say, 1997. Now, compare them to Apple iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy. The latter is much more sleek and streamlined. :lol

Michael Kaplan said he looked to Apple as his biggest inspiration on how to perfect the stormtrooper’s white, plastic-y armor.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kaplan says when he got to London to work on the stormtrooper armor, he found it quite simple: Just ask, “What would Apple do?”

And there you have it.

So it doesn't make sense to make something that takes place 30 years in the future look more futuristic?

I'm not arguing your opinion on preferring the look of the OT troopers better. In some aspects, I would agree. There's things on the OT Stormies that I like better than the FO Stormies, and vice versa. I'm just simply saying there's a point as to why the FO Stormies look more "futuristic". :)

Wasn't aware of that apple was actually used as inspiration but there you go.

And I don't feel the new design completely sucks, I just haven't warmed up to the point of collecting them. In part because of what I already said, but also because I am rapidly running out of space. I think the change from the OT design to the new design is pretty drastic. 30 years time in star wars feels like about 5 seconds to me.

I like the TIE Pilot and Snowtrooper better than the Stormtrooper, which is unfortunate since the Stormtrooper has all the screen time so it's the one I would want represented most. Ended up buying the other two cause I do really like the designs though.
