My sideshow version still looks great but I am definitely going to get this. I’ll dump some rewards on it to ease the sting. I was happy hot toys was avoiding Star Wars for a few months. This isn’t the most exciting release ever but at least it’s OT.

I use to own the Marmit one, which I thought was pretty good with proportions. (not my photos).

Which is exactly what the TIE pilots in ANH looked like.
I refer you back to the very first sentence in my post.

There were a lot of unintentional design constraints in the first movie that I don't necessarily think should be reproduced. A good example being Vader's lack of symmetry. You know they didn't do that on purpose and if they had better techniques at the time, they wouldn't have designed it that way. I feel like the size of the Tie Fighter pilot's helmet likely falls into the same category. I know some people are sticklers for absolute screen accuracy, but I'm not one of them. Give me the idealized version

Even if massive head is screen accurate, I'd be okay with them cheating it to make the head more proportionate. I want to like this, but he looks like a child running around in a Tie Fighter costume
Yeah I usually love all things OT... but this is one time when I think the ST greatly improved on an original design.

Wish HT did this two years ago.

Would have been an instant PO for me then. Now, with the rising cost of these figures, trade war/tariffs are here, and inflation getting worse - it's most likely a pass for me, sadly.

Happy for all of those who will be getting their pilot.

It's basically a stormie helmet with an x-wing helmet plopped on top. They should have just combined the 2 existing models.
