I went through the same thing when looking for a Cap for my collection haha. I like the current versions of his suit but there is something about the original's look that I greatly preferred.

Ultimately I went with the GA Cap because it has a diecast shield and the suit has a better fit to the body, I read some reviews and in general the TFA Cap had a bit of an oversized suit, so it looked a little big on the body. Although I will say the TFA Cap has much better accessories.

There are definitely pros and cons to both so I would say you can't go wrong with either!
Yeah I'll have to think about it some more. I just don't like how puffy the GA suit looks and TFA suit looks much more retro which I really like ... hmmm~~ :lol why does it have to be so hard? XD

GA cap for sure in that debate over TFA! I'm biased, but GA is an amazing figure
I know~~~ XD but TFA one does have pros too. :lol

When in doubt, buy them all, lol.
:rotfl I would if space wasn't an issue ... well, I know, I did say the exact same thing before I bought civvie Steve ... or Rescue Cap ... or Stealth Cap ... XD I am trying to be reasonable here! Damn, my friend was right when she said "ask people who don't collect. fellow collectors are nothing but enablers." :lol

Cap didn't have a very big part in The Force Awakens so I'd suggest the Golden Age version.
As someone who's not in SW fandom and only mildly interested in the movies, TFA will always only stand for The First Avenger for me. :lol

I have one of every Cap they have ever released and also have the 3A one on order.
I also have a bunch of my own customs. Cap is a great character and doesn't have just one look.
This is an old pic. I replaced all those heads with the Steve Rogers head from TWS two-pack figure.

As an owner of both, I'd say TFA Cap.

It's a smaller figure, but the tailoring I think is better and the sculpt isn't undersized. It's also his true retro suit in the MCU.

See? That's the reason I can't decide. :lol But I really think that if I get one, it would be TFA Cap. :)

Well, I still got time to think it through. I'll only have to pull the trigger if I decide to get that Howlies outfit done for TFA Bucky and that's gonna be pricey. XD

Treat yo self. ;)

still can't decide whether I should get GA Cap or TFA Cap ... I'm leaning towards the latter coz I love the retro feel of the suit hmmm~ :/

I had a similar dilemma, and after having both figures in hand, I went with TFA Cap over GA Cap. Both figures will require some mod work to make them look better (TFA needs long ankle pegs and a bigger body, GA needs some work with the shoulder padding). On a technical level, GA Cap is a better figure in terms of articulation and tailoring (I won't ever stop raving about the blue pinstripe pattern). The GA diecast shield is nice, but the CW diecast shield or Avengers BD plastic shield are good alternatives. However, the TFA outfit/movie resonates more with me, so I'll always prefer that version. That, and I really dislike the extra red stripes on the GA abdomen. I know that's more comic accurate, but I loved how the only red stripes on the TFA outfit were straps from the shoulders. It's a wonderful mix between functional WWII clothing and the comic book color scheme. I also love all the random leather straps on TFA Cap (plus a pistol!).

TFA Cap holds a special place in my collection- it was my first HT figure and also the one I've put the most effort into modding/tweaking. At one point, I even thought of modding the figure so I could use the AoU body/shield (because magnets are cool). :lol

Thanks for your elaboration. :) It really just confirms what I've been thinking whenever I look at TFA and GA Cap. I dislike the red stripe in the middle of the GA suit. Do you think the Stealth Cap body will fit inside the TFA suit? I still got that one lying around and wouldn't mind swapping if it meant an improvement.

Who was it that said fig collecting is like being on crack?? Or eating potato chips...

Golden_Age_Mezco.jpg

Yeah, my "retro" Caps...except now I'm thinkin' I'd like the First Avenger $$$ and I liked the classic Mezco so much I'd like the modern version too $ (least these are small) and wasn't gonna get BP and hadn't planned on an AC Wanda....

It all starts so innocently and then and then and then, you're rearranging furniture, researching lighting strips, and eating cheap food because you ordered the diecast version of something.:devil

Yep! I switched to a Steve Rogers body, which is the same as the Stealth Cap body, so you'll be fine there.

The Steve Rogers body is the same as the SS body? I thought the SR body was different, as it seems to have a bit of a bulkier chest.

The Steve Rogers figure looks bulkier because of the tailoring. Once you take the padding off, the bodies underneath are the same. The Avengers, TWS, and AoU Cap bodies are all the same size without the padding (and bigger than the TFA/Rescue Cap bodies). Then CW Cap had the redesigned body for a bulkier chest.

As the era of Steve Rogers comes to a close in the MCU, here's to a golden age of Cap indeed!

Beautiful pic:clap:clap:clap

Indeed re the Steve Rogers era.

Mild End Game spoiler comment

Guess you don't know how you feel until you feel it, but re the End Game credits I was very grateful that just about anyone in the MCU rolled by, culminating with the signatures and shots of Cap and Iron Man. It showed respect to the fans and characters and you knew you'd been part of something special and epic, these last 10 years. Glad the Russos handled those last credits the way they did.:clap

And luv my MCU collection, too. PS. saved your pic just to have it LOL I like all my Caps.
