Well you know what, I pointed out in the Godfather thread that the free backdrop that HT included with the figure was the same backdrop HT used to photograph the updated prototype with.

SOOOOOOOO.. could these images used for the DX Joker prototype photos possibly be a freebie backdrop included with the figure!?

You'll note, the same static image is used for the backdrop in every pic (City Funeral, Basement Kitchen (!?) and the standard grey backdrop). Just a thought.

Maybe a backdrop of the other members of the honor guard? Or maybe even a double sided one with the other side featuring the mob meeting kitchen?

Nice idea!

Geez, Godfather looks like a DX! And that stand and backdrop they included adds to the awesomeness of that dead on head!

I'm not a fan of the printed background look. Especially with these figures that have such a high degree of realism, a two-dimensional print-out as a diorama just looks cheap.

True.. but if it's free and doesn't add to the cost (like the Godfather) why knock it!? :D

I don't think it'll be "free" for long. If they make the backdrop a regular accessory for subsequent figure releases it will factor into pricing. Really, do you think the accessories that come with any figure are considered free? The Godfather figure is a special case since he is the first to have this type of item, and from what's been talked about in this board the backdrop was a last minute inclusion. I would bet HT just wants to top Enterbay somehow at this price point and this was their idea.

Haha - well true, although I don't know that you could ever say that it doesn't add to the cost, just because it wasn't announced initially doesn't mean it wasn't costed into the process from the start. I guess I'm just saying that - to me - a printed backdrop doesn't add anything because I would never use it. I'm not a real diorama person, but would rather pay extra and be given something that is 3D and matches the quality of the figure.

Oh I agree aussieinnyc.. I wouldn't use it for display either. Maybe photos though.

Depends on how you define "free" and in what context it's in. In the context of retail, I define "free" as anything you receive that DOES NOT have to be included by the company selling it. I think everyone understands the basics of selling/buying i.e. the amount we pay as buyers isn't even remotely close to what it costs a company to make the product being bought. Nikes sell for $100+ but they only cost less than a $1 to manufacture. So if the price remains the same, and people continue to buy the products, the company selling those products doesn't HAVE TO include anything extra. So if you buy a figure from HT for $150.. and HT offers another figure later for the same exact price with basically the same amount of stuff.. and you're willing to spend the exact same amount of money.. but this time they throw in something extra like the little poster for the BR Joker, or the dio back drop for the Godfather that doesn't affect the cost, in the context of THAT.. I'd consider that free/a freebie. Nothing in life is actually "free" because somewhere, someone is paying the cost. But as long as it's not YOU.. then it's free. :lol

I wouldn't enjoy the Cop Joker image, it looks to be the big overhead crowd shot, the engle wouldn't match up very well with the figure standing there. The kitchen backdrop for Mob Joker works though.

I think they're talking about the poster with the Dk line on it (tumbler, batpod, dk bats, og bats, br joker, and two-face). You didn't get one?
