Ah, fair enough. I guess my point was that the final prototype pictures that HT releases are - in my experience - very similar to the final products. You're right that it doesn't make a lot of sense that if drastic changes are made to the prototype, and new proto pictures are released, that the box art isn't updated. My original point still stand though, that the final proto pics HT show us usually reflect the final production figure (even if the box doesn't!)

What final proto pictures?

HT rarely takes update proto pictures, themselves anyway. HT never posted their own update images of the TDK Batman, that Tommy Lee guy did some photos for some magazine that happened to get scanned and posted on the internet. Hot Toys' site still has the original proto photos up.

Without understanding the production process, I can't even guess whether the box art has to go into production far in advance so that's why use prototype images, or perhaps the prototype never gets update, they just make changes on the production line and by the time production figures are complete the box art is done, who knows. Because most of the time, HT's production figures look just like the protos, it usually doesn't seem odd if the figure on the box isn't exactly like what's inside, but the TDK line has undergone so many changes to most of the figures, it stands out more.

Yes it was.

It wasn't. For some unknown reason they squished the head greatly and horrid face part and changed the suit kevlar colour and pattern giving it a ghastly toy coppery bronze look to it.

The prototype had it right more or less. It would have required very minimal mods even a very light touch up even at that.

When you look at the inside of the box flap and see the fig inside. You'd think, this looks nothing like it. As the prototype is shown in 3 different views on the inside of the box flap.

Moving on... to The Joker.

um.. vodoun actually HAS a Medicom TDK Suit Batman. He's in a better position than you to make that comparison bro.

Obviously HT updates the prototype because like you said, THAT'S what gets photographed. The updated pics of the TDK Suit Batman that showed the differences between the update and original prototypes were released months in advance of the figure showing up in-hand @ ToyWorld etc.

There's honestly no point in arguing with EdwardNygma1 since he doesn't seem to listen to anyone and he thinks he knows it all.

Soooooooooooooooo.........................I'm going to have the Jokers eyes looking straight ahead during the day, then change then during the night so when my wife wakes up he'll be staring at her.
what are everyone else's plans for the eyes? thinking of leaving them in one position for a few weeks or days then change them?

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
You have to tell us how that goes after you do it :rotfl

I think I'll just change the eyes whenever I feel like changing em :dunno

I think I'm going to have them stare at probably my Medi Batman

Straight forward but slightly up like this:

I think it'll look good with the head/neck hunched like everyone (including me) has done with their BR Joker. But who knows.. with that much freedom I might change it around every now and then. :D

What would be cool is if you could somehow wake yourself up in the middle of the night (assuming your wife knows you went to slee), change the eyes, and let your wife be creeped out that they moved after you went to sleep :lol

Be cool if someone could electronically rig something to move them all the time so while you're in the room it's like he's following everyone :lol

As Religious as my Wife is, I'd wake up to find my DX Joker burned in the garbage. :(

I need a young priest and an old priest, the power of Christ compels you, the power of Christ compels you....

Joker's the new Chucky, haven't you heard.

"Hi, I'm Joker, wanna play?"

Haha, funny you should say that. I definitely plan on getting up in the middle of the night, grabbing my Cop Joker, setting it up next to the bed, and using it to point his rifle directly at my girlfriend, in case she wakes up. Definitely worth a laugh.

She's creeped out by the Jokers I have (Bank Robber and now a custom Nurse), but at least I have a pair of Batmans to reduce the creepy factor.
