-DMC Cannibal Jack Sparrow was a completely different figure from a different film. The HS could have been used on that figure just as easily as the AWE Jack.
-TDK Original Costume Batman was in the film so again it was just a release to that film, we know it was a redo because the original was lacking but I wouldn't call it a double dip.
-Battle Damaged Predator was a completely different situation, the thing was BD, that is the way it was intended to be displayed, the rest are just "upgrades".

The only ones on that list I'd consider blantant "redos" are the 2 in 1 Superman because even though the HS were completely different they already did the additional HS in the Clark Figure and they just did a different suit included here. The Suit was better materials too. Wolf Predator would fall into that category as well.

They definitely done it but not as much as people are complaining. Personally I think the biggest issue of the double dip is the Predators who before Wolf all had the exact same body styling and height even though that wasn't film accurate.

I just PreOrdered it at $199.99. A little higher than the $180 (which was probably $179.99) quoted earlier but mine will be from the HT release not the delayed DC Direct import.

Finally caught up...with that said, this is just what I was hoping for! Now V1 can become "Interrogation" Joker (got a chair the other day) w/ BR head! And BillyB's shirt and tie will still go on the "Mob" Joker.

Yeah I just got my pre-order confirmation back from Joe with the same price quote of $199.99. But he said the same thing Mike, that's the HT price not the DCD price. So I guess when Joe an update from DCD, that price he quoted me will go down.

Also I notice it sort of does look like theres a hole in the pupil, you can kinda see the edge inside (?). Can anyone enhance this better?

The BRJ was about $20 cheaper if I waited for DC Direct but I want these sooner than later. I wouldn't be surprised if this followed suit or might be even cheaper.

Looks like this only comes with one TT, so that should help keep the price down. I have an extra TT I'll save so I can have and Interrogation and Mob Joker. I'm interested in seeing about this LED base. That sounds cool.

Great work on the retouch, looks much better.

Good spot on the eye. Guess you DO just move them with an implement. They can't be moved independently can they.

Not so smart for HT though. I'll be very hesitant to purchase ANY 1st figure now... thinking an improved version will certainly be coming down the road.

I'd agree, except, that's a gamble, and the way some thing's go in price from them on secondary market, that's a tough swallow.

Say you get v1 and just for easy math this new set at $150 each, so $300 for two figures, 2 sets of clothing etc.

Now, say the v1 was it, this never existed and your only chance at HT purple suit was v1 and you didn't get it thinking there'd be better later. Now you look at paying as much as $300 for one figure.

It's a 50/50 shot and being uncharted waters, there's no telling where this will go. Until at least half a dozen cases like this occur, I'm not going to feel safe that there will always be a better one later, so I'll be buying first and if a new comes out better, that too. I'd rather have 2 full figures that I could maybe do something with for $300 than a single $300 figure because I hesitated.

I could have had Hicks for retail but I wasn't impressed with the HT photos and passed. I spent nearly double to get him and that was a cheap price. It can be so problematic to deal with secondary market prices on HT stuff, depending on the item, it's just not worth the gamble to say no unless you can be 100% certain better is coming.

Like I've said though, kudos to HT for continuing to improve their Joker. However, other than the new eye technology, none of this was out of their range of doable things back when v1 was made, and shame on them for not delivering then. Hopefully this much better one shortly after will not become a norm and giving us the best up front will be more a norm, but you never know, they can be pretty shady sometimes.

Wow, that figure looks amazing. I'm shocked they've giving the whole revamped v.1 suit. Why the hell did they release V.1 in the first place? I'm not happy about that tbh.

But wow. Stunning. Dunno why the inner coat is still red though?!

I'm looking forward to seeing what this led stand is all about...

I'll post this one more time:

The figures, the "updates" were bonuses really.

The first figure "The Joker" was done before the final film edit was completed and inaccurate in many ways despite being a fantastically done figure. It was done on promotional pics solely and obviously things changed.

The second figure "The Joker in Bank Robber Disguise" included a second head that could be used for the v1 figure but not made specifically for it like the Jack Sparrow release. It also included a gun that was heavily featured in trailers and posters and people were screaming should have been included.

This figure "The Joker in Cop Disguise" has upgraded suits, which people were screaming about since the first release. The suit is the correct color. It seems lightly weathered which people were complaining was lacking. It also includes additional Joker pieces like the Grenade rig. Additional hands and completely new Joker head with different expression. This update was created specifically to make the Joker from the Mob scene. If you have Joker v1 and get this figure which is only $30 more than a standard MMS you basically can upgrade everything from the HS to the clothing, if not it can just stay in the box like a 2 in 1.

When you really look at the game footage Hot Toys hasn't committed a huge sin as many are proclaiming.

While its expensive to have "The definitive Joker" because you'd either have to fight on eBay for the pieces or plop down $480 to get it but that is our fault for being anal retentive collectors, there are collectors out there who are still happy with their first purchase and have called it done.

The v1 was deemed "unacceptable" by a lot of fans, they've been trying to make amends ever since and while some have been screaming foul.

^^^^^k these cheap japs. This is the figure we SHOULD have gotten in the first place. It's not like their technology improves that quickly. This was all a scam to take our money. They could have damn well put this one out in the first place.
