This comment made a question pop into my head: Why would TDK Joker go so out of his way to be clean shaven all the time, yet let his fingernails become so gnarly? IT MAKES NO SENSE, I TELLS YA! :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:lol

Because he doesn't wanna look stupid like Cesar Romero did!?

Can't apply makeup on a stubby face?

I am quite impressed with the pictures I've seen so far. I have the BR Joker --- but passed on the original purple coat Joker because the sculpt was ridiculous, and I couldn't justify paying $150 for a bad sculpt just to get the costume. However, I have seen the complaints about the original costume -- dark coat, red lining, weird chain, plastic tie, wonky shirt collar, crazy lapels, no suspenders, velcro vest, etc.

It looks to me like the most egregious of the previous problems have been corrected. The coat is purple enough for me. It isn't as vibrant as the manipulated picture posted earlier ... but I'm not sure it should be electric purple. The weathering is fantastic, and the fabric looks great. The lapels lay better. Tie appears to be fabric. Snaps replace velcro on the vest. Suspenders added. Chain corrected. Shirt looks like it fits better. The lining looks the same, but I think a red lining looks more appropriate anyway.

Overall, I'm jazzed. The sculpt looks great. I'm glad I held off on the original and waited ... this appears to be a substantial improvement.

Agree with you on everything, but I caved in and got a v1 in May, and the knee came loose the week I got it, and then just a few days ago, the leg broke off completely. and the velcro is always visible on the joker vest and doesnt stay shut it's quite ridiculous as well as the lapels......just.......fail.

the proto shoes looked a LOT better than the final product.
suspenders still off in terms of color, also the inner jacket, AND the color of the purple coat.
Sigh.....

so basically, from the proto to final product, they ONLY change the tie??? come on!!

I think they changed the shirt color too didn't they?

I hope youre kidding....

Caesar Romero is THE JOKER, without him there is no Jack and there is no Heath.

That may be overstating it a bit. I don't hate Romero, but I don't think he is singularly responsible for all subsequent live-action Jokers.

Tracing Ledger's Joker to Romero is like tracing Bale's Wayne/Batman to Adam West. The characterizations have nothing whatsoever in common. Ledger's was dark, murderous and maniacal; Romero's was goofy and comical (just as Bale is dark and brooding and West was campy and ridiculous). Romero did the first live-action Joker ... but he didn't originate the character. The character was drawn from the comics, and Ledger's and Nicholson's representations might very well have been identical even if there had been no Romero Joker.

I'm shocked that it's not getting criticized here. Most were quick to jump in on v1 but this gets ignored. Maybe the reality will bite in, in a months time. I can see the same thing happening to Batman.

Reminder of the shoes.
