That may be overstating it a bit. I don't hate Romero, but I don't think he is singularly responsible for all subsequent live-action Jokers.

Tracing Ledger's Joker to Romero is like tracing Bale's Wayne/Batman to Adam West. The characterizations have nothing whatsoever in common. Ledger's was dark, murderous and maniacal; Romero's was goofy and comical (just as Bale is dark and brooding and West was campy and ridiculous). Romero did the first live-action Joker ... but he didn't originate the character. The character was drawn from the comics, and Ledger's and Nicholson's representations might very well have been identical even if there had been no Romero Joker.

Never said you could trace Heath to Romero. That would be moronic. Heath never even drew any inspiration from Romero's Joker. Heath's first firsthand resource of the joker was "The Killing Joke"

I am saying that you can't hate Romero. To say he is "ashamed" of having the same last name is blasphemy. Look at "Batman #1" which came out in 1940. The Joker is exactly the same as Romero portrayed him. Silly, over the top, and criminally insane. Anyone who is a fan of the Joker is a fan of Romero.

I would like to see DX next V1 Joker to compare. Also Id like to see purple joker with the white gloves. I think Cop joker turned out so much better than expected really proper looking

I don't recall Joker having a mustache and wearing eye masks and using backpack zapper type things.....

FOR ^^^^ SAKE HT, YOU RIP US OFF ONCE AGAIN!!!!
to search for previous error is a piece of cake job that even a single man can do that, you have plenty of pictures from the net.
now you claimed to have your own R&D team??

what are the extra pins for?

I really think the color of the suit changes with the lighting and depending on the camera people are using. The coat looks the perfect shade.

Seriously would you prefer the coat to be the color of the purple background on the box? It wasn't that bright in the movie

hmmmmm considering you're like what 16 you probably don't know much about the Joker. Since I've read pretty much every single Joker appearance let me name some of the "campy" weapons the Joker has used.

deck of razor-sharp playing cards, an acid-spewing flower, cyanide pies, exploding cigars filled with nitroglycerin, harpoon guns that utilize razor-sharp BANG!-flags, electric joy buzzer, Joker venom, BOXING GLOVE ARM, the "Sniper Revolver" from "The Batman", countless guns, countless vehicles, killed Jason Todd with a crow-bar, an exploding blimp, the "Bang" pistol, duh... a pencil, he skinned a guy alive for crying out loud.

BUT
to get this conversation back on track. Heath never had any stubble in the movie. for Christ's sake he still had white makeup on while in the cop disguise. that's just another mistake by HT and I'll definitely be repainted my cop head

Ok, you know more than me, I'm not going to argue. Most of those things I've heard of though, and they aren't out of character like an pink eye mask, a mustache, and a teleporting zapper backpack.

And actually, I'm 17 :monkey3

I am very pleased with the outcome of this, not perfect, but few things are. Too many of you guys are just way to nitpicky about this stuff. This is the best Joker figure/statue to date so far imo.........waiting cinemaquette! :tap

I am only 18 and I think it is a generational thing but sometimes things like Ceasar's rendition of the Joker are not always liked or enjoyed by a younger adolescence audience. I'm sure there are a few exceptions of course but I can't say that I'm a big fan either just because what Romero did with the Joker is his own unique thing and not everyone is going to enjoy it, whereas I;m sure some didn't like Heath's version. I am enthralled with Ledger's Joker just because I deeply enjoy but everyone is different and that is what makes the world go around. To each his own.:peace

that's the thing. Romero didn't do a unique thing, Romero took the Joker from the comics and put him into live action. If anything Heath was a unique thing, he was more Johnny Rotten and Clockwork Orange than the Joker.

I can see where you are coming from but I think most people today will recognize the Joker as a murdering psychopath more so than the crazy and dare I say kooky man he was in the comics because lets be honest there are probably more movie goers know than people that read comics. In the early comics I don't think he was as bloodthirsty as he is know but over time things change because that is the only thing consistent in life.

I don't think so. I think he gave those two a run for their money. The Dark Knight Joker has a wide range of emotions. He's sinister, charming, funny, psychotic, goofy, and menacing. One minute he scares you, the next you laugh at his personality.

I hate when people compare him to Alex from a Clockwork Orange. The Joker would tie Alex up, tell him how wrong his philosophies towards life are, carve him up and let him live. Sure his costume design has punk written all over it but I think the personality of the Joker in The Dark Knight is just as similar as the comic interpretation. Ledger fit in most of the styles from the comics ranging from the first appearance to the killing joke in that 2 and a half hour time frame.

mmmmm I dont know mate, beating Jason Todd to death with a crowbar was pretty bloodthirsty and manacle.

The thing is, Heath's Joker is more like the early comic version of the Joker than the Silver Age Comic version. He is more crazy and calculated than say TAS Joker (The Animated Series for those less educated) In the early comics the Joker was all about killing and murder. The chattering teeth and acid squirting flower didnt come about until the 60s/70s/80s

The Golden Age comics, The Killing Joke, Bermejo's Joker, The Man Who Laughs, these are the comics which are more like Heath's interpretation.

there is a huge difference between the Joker Fanboys, and the Heath Fanboys. but that is unavoidable

I love that scenario :lol

Plus Alex changed, change will never come to someone as sinister as the Joker.:emperor
