Yeah that's what I don't understand. The instruction booklet clearly illustrates that the eyes can only move in a circle, and I can't get the control stick on mine to move into the center. The first two screen grabs show the Joker looking upwards, a large part of the iris is hidden. The bottom screen grab shows the most of the iris can be seen (though he's still looking downward slightly). Mine can't do that and I haven't seen any one else able to do it in any photos so far.

I don't want to use to much force.

I'm thinking A) to get it straight on might take a little finesse to get it there, and B) perhaps some of the heads may have little variations in the PERS mechanism keeping them from being able to do it.

Well, if anyone can get it to move freely across the eye laterally instead of circularly let me know, because it feels like there's a dead zone in the center of mine where I feel like I'd break the control stick if I try to move it a millimeter further.

The control stick only allows for a fairly strict circular 360-degree rotation. I originally thought that it would move like an arcade joystick without the spring, but it's not like that. There's a tiny, tiny bit of wiggle room outside the circle, but it cannot hit dead center. I'm going to heed the warnings in the instruction booklet and not try to force anything.

I kinda know what you mean about that but I think it's just the way they are made. I think that they'll slacken up so you can get the eyes dead centre (besides when mine came straight of the box the eyes where dead centre) I'd try again but I've messed with the eyes enough on mine to get a feel for how they work and I've just got them into a pose where I'm happy.

Maybe there are still bugs in the system to be worked out. I would think they would design the function to match the motion of human eyes, Enterbay's can do anything.

My biggest concern (and MaulFan will feel me on this :D) is my big ass MANLY fingers being able to control that damn little stick to move the eyes period. :lol

They're manly dammit!!!

I definitely feel you, I have a hunch tweezers will be a standard accessory with PERS figures :lol They should include a little joystick extension piece for the large fingered collector :lol

Yeah, like with Enterbay eyes, the novelty wears off fast and once I find a position I like I rarely go back. When I opened the box, mine were looking straight upwards.

Joystick extension??? :rotfl

Yeah, I realize the setup I made there, but seriously, for anybody, I'd have come up with a base pin in the head so you can put the hair in, and have the actually control be a separate piece you connect onto it, or just have a slot to connect to inside the figure head. Both Enterbay and Hot Toys' methods are not ideal for someone with larger fingers, though at least one switch to move for HT is a bit easier than individual eyes.

That's it, I'm sharing my photos with Devil only, where the hard effort of dealing with the tiny switch on the PERS will be truly appreciated :)

If you turn the eyes too much will the iris scrape off? I don't want a white eyed corpse joker

I believe that the eyes on the PERS heads is a sort of glass eye effect with plastic to make them seem more real, I don't think it's just round pieces painted like normal, probably with the intent of preserving the look with use of the PERS where paint could be worn away, but I'm not totally certain.

Paint scrape scares were one big reason why I'd pick an eye position on Enterbay figures and leave it there forever.

I put my DX on a standard True Type today and love the results. I'll show a picture tomorrow as I did it right before work.
