After a busy Christmas weekend, I was FINALLY able to unbox my DX Joker last night. (sorry, after 3 hrs of dressing/futzing, no time for photos. )
I've only been collecting for a year or two, so take it for what it's worth, but man, this is the greatest figure(s) I've ever seen.
I had considered the Cop Joker a throw in at the beginning, but after seeing it in hand, I'd have to say I enjoy it equal to the clown Joker. The feel and quality of the Cop clothing is unlike any I've seen: so soft and pressed, perfectly tailored to the narrow shoulder TT. The tie alone is amazing, (it's too bad they can't produce patterned ties that nice!) The headsculpt is really well done - capturing so much of the creepyness of the moment. No problem with the hat, slid right down, perfect fit. I really like this figure...I guess partly because of how perfectly it all fits together, but also because it is so different from the other HT Jokers.
The clown Joker is really a powerhouse. I switched out the narrow shoulder to the Cop Joker and dressed him on a standard TT. I really like how it broadens his shoulders and gives him that hunched look. The coat is fantastic and a great improvement over V1. As is the vest - that velcro version was such a waste . The pants/socks/shoes seem a tad bit nicer, but not that noticeable a difference except maybe the fit on the pants. The suspenders are cool, even if you can't really see them (which is a good thing in this case since one of the areas where they mount in the back did rip. ) I won't dwell on the color of the liner or the fact that the blazer is not blue enough, old news. Getting the pinners in was surprisingly easy as I don't have small, nimble fingers.
The PERS really makes this figure special. I just love the endless display possibilities it offers. It was a bit sticky at first but then softened up nicely. I do tend to prefer positioning his eyes up and/or to the sides as the down positions to tend to look like he's surprised. The variety of accessories is appreciated, although for now I plan on displaying him in "Atta ta ta ta, let's not blow this out of proportion" mode. And like many others, I had to glue the name plate on the stand - no biggie.
This is the Joker I always wanted and Hot Toys delivered. And I'm pleasantly surprised with the brilliance of the Cop version. An amazing value at $149 by the way. :chew
