I almost forgot, just wanted to share a funny story about this figure. On Sunday my wife had some lady friends over (new house visits) so she gave them the grand tour. As some know my basement (man cave) is almost done so my collection is still boxed up. However I couldn't resist just displaying DX Joker and DX bats on one of our dressers. One of her friends literally jumped back when looking up close to Jokers sculpt :lol She swore it looked too real and was freaked out by it. :D

I thought it was kinda funny and complimentary to Hot Toys at the same time. :D

Raddest gif ever haha. It's like the first word that popped into my mind when I saw that haha.
RADICAL :p I don't even ever use that. Never have in my life!

Jesus, OMG! up until now the one Maulfan posted was my favorite, but that previous one - JEEZ how cool is THAT! SOOOO realistically rooted and it has the proper brown colour too. WOW, how can one contact that guy, any details? I'm not on facebook

The hair looks nice, but the thing I don't like on the FB vs. Venom's is the volume of hair, the FB one looks nice for having lose strands, but the volume doesn't look that much more than the DX hair without them.

Both those customs are freakily real!

Oh and just to throw in my 2cents on the 'fan' thing, regardless of my opinion on a movie I just get figs that I like design wise. Theres lots of different ways and reasons to collect :)

....but they all leave you friendless and broke :lol

I agree on all counts!

I would never say otherwise, with the exception of DX01 and 02 just because they are both so incredible. Hard to imagine someone who loved both The Dark Knight and HT not wanting both.

But even in this case there are exceptions such as:
I am a huge TDK fan and I don't have the DX02 because I mostly like the bad guys. I'm sure some day I'll pick up Batman too if I can get him cheap enough.

So like you said: "Theres lots of different ways and reasons to collect :)"

I don't like the roots on the nurse one above. You can see the DX sculpted hair too much imo. :dunno

I think that's mainly color differences, it's too aqua looking and the DX hair is a dark green, if the hair were dyed right and blended properly, I don't think you'd spot the transition.

I hate when people measure fandom by product ownership, that's a load of crap, there are people who can own very few items and be far bigger fans than those who own everything.

i remembered my college days circa 2002. i didn't have any real Batman collection at the time but i still considered myself a Batman nut. a big, big nut!

with or without the toys (since i really wasn't aware that there was a specific group that called themselves "collectors"), i talked Batman all the time. and come my last semester, my thesis was about Batman, entitled "Shadow of the Bat: Cultural Integration & Mythological Symbolism of the World's Greatest Super Hero." i think i cemented my status in my school. :rotfl

on a side note, i'm sorry if i wasn't able to read everything in the thread. do people actually use REAL hair and then just paint it green to attach it & mod their figs?

I don't know about others, but I shaved a cat and used that. The best fur, I found, came from around around the hind legs. It's fluffier and more consistent with how human hair would be at the 1:6 scale. It works best if you go with a cat with light colour hair, also. I first shaved a black cat but later found it impossible to dye the hair. With a sandy/gray-coloured cat though it's no problem.
