im done struggling on whether or not i should go easy on this guy. first, as you know, he sold me a DX joker, with busted PERS eyes, refuses to take the figure back for a refund, or even offer me a partial refund...
also, the tiny safety pins for the grenade rig were MISSING. thanks to MAGLOR for the set on its way to me now...

now i go to take his shirt off because im selling the billy b set it came with and i see that his suspenders are broken, i didnt touch them AT ALL. they were carefully laid over his shoulders and tucked behind his back.

then i also notice the BONUS bank robber gun he included was BROKEN, and the stock is GLUED where it is supposed to turn on the hinge. try telling me you didnt know about THAT one RICEaRONI.

and lastly, this one im not sure about, but looking at MAGLORS pics of the grenade rig inside the coat, shouldnt this have rivets? what the hell did this guy sell me. he needs to be banned from the selling and buying threads.

You know, there is so much on the threads about using a little of this figure and this figure and figure and i'll have the perfect Joker, even Batman. What to do with all the spares? hmmmm.

no i havent contacted him after these new finds, it wont metter, he told me flat out to leave bad feedback, and that he wont be taking the figure back OR giving me a refund... what the heck would this coat be from if not the dx? everything else seems accurate on it.

im so mad. i cant believe i bought this piece of garbage.

I suppose its possible he's taen the V1 joker coat and attached the grenade rig. He might have wanted the DX coat but not the grenade rig, so took it off and attached it to the v1 to offload it. Pretty crappy thing to do. But then im certainly no expert on the coats so someone may tell me im wrong, it might well be the DX coat.
It does suck though man, you seemed really excited to get the DX and its even more of a kick in the teeth that its someone from the boards that would do this. You'd expect it more from ebay but there's a nice community here and a lot of decent, honest sellers (i've dealt with a few that were brilliant) and the bad apples totally ruin it.
Hope you can somehow salvage something out of it all dude.

Edit: seems Gipetto beat me with the same statement about the community. Haha.

yeah i looked long and hard for a DECENT deal on this figure, and i should have known this was too good to be true. i mean, it wasnt even THAT good. it was for sale along time before i bought it, and i found myself wondering why...

ive come to the conclusion he didnt want to sell it on ebay, because someone could actually open a case against him there, nothing i can do here except complain and warn people to stay away from him.

i just emailed RICEaRONI one final time, asking for some way to fix the situation, i doubt he will respond, just as he hasnt posted anything on here this entire time defending himself... im sure he just broke the _____ out of his DX joker, and wanted to offload it to some poor idiot like myself.

yeah paid as a gift, of course...he insisted.
the fees were about 40 bucks. so on top of the huge amount the figure cost me, it was begining to get crazy.

I don't know if it was broken in his possession or not. As a seller, I would not sell broken goods. If it turned out a buyer claimed I sent him a broken good (that I know was not broken when I sent it), I'd be sore, but I'd probably offer at least a partial refund, to help him buy a replacement part. Take that for what it's worth.

Was the Joker taken out of the box and assembled before he sold it to you? If not, it's possible that the box originally was missing those pins, due to an error on Hot Toys' part - they're easy to miss, if you're not taking the Joker out to assemble and play with. In that case, it's not really HIS fault.

If it was taken out, though, then he should've known and made it clear to you.

I once sold a DX Joker straight from the box - he was missing his wallet/knife chain on his pants. I didn't know that at the time, since I just took it straight from the box, didn't think to check for a little detail like that, and it was Hot Toys' fault because they must have forgotten to include it on that specific figure - so I didn't realize until the buyer let me know, once it had arrived. The point is, sometimes things are missing and it's not the sellers' fault.

There's no excuse for that - if he had swapped shirts, he'd have known about that (and probably caused it himself).

Ok, I'm not sure what you're talking about - but if there's glue on the little hinge part, that is NORMAL.

I've inspected several bank robber guns straight from the box - Hot Toys adds a dab of glue to the little hinges. Enough to keep the hinges from just coming out, but not enough to prevent the thing from swiveling in the first place.

Why would he have removed the rivets? That makes no sense to me - I suspect that's just normal variation in Hot Toys figures, and not his fault.

For instance, I've got two Bank Robber Joker figures - one with a brown belt, one with a black belt. This kind of normal variation exists, even between identical Hot Toys figures.



I'm not saying you didn't get a raw deal - the PERS story is fishy and there's no excuse for the suspenders. I'm just saying some of the issues you've mentioned might either not be issues (like the bank robber gun) or not his fault (like Hot Toys' omissions and normal variations). For sure, damn him for what he's done, but no more.

Someone mentioned maybe he swapped the rig onto the v1 coat. You only showed us a close-up picture - from what I could tell (the color), it looked like the DX coat. But if you show us a picture of the whole thing (with the lapels and all), we'll be able to tell you whether it's the DX coat or the v1 coat.

HAYTIL, i dont think i can QUOTE something that large, but ill address all your points...

the eyes were broke bfore i got them, you can see it in the pic, everyone agrees except yourself, which is fine.

safety pins are missing, yeah the figure was open and had been displayed, whether or not he ever had the pins, he should know what COMPLETE means when he tells me the figure is COMPLETE with all its accesories.

the bank robber joker gun has glue where the hinge would be, doesnt move at all. i have a BR joker, with a normal gun, this is completely different, he or someone before him broke the gun at the hinge and then just glued it, it doesnt move at all.

the rivets, i have NO IDEA why someone would remove the rivets. and i wasnt sure about this point either, just posting it to see if anyones else came like that, if im the ONLY one, im thinking theres something wrong.

its definatly not a v1 coat. i had that guy, it was much thinner, im sure its a dx coat. but have no idea why the rivets wwould be gone.

Maglor, you recently removed the grenade panel from your coat - are the rivets just glued on the panel, or do they puncture through to the other side (leaving a hole in the panel if you remove the rivets)?

yeah i know you didnt doubt it, you just said you couldnt tell from the pic. thats cool. understandable. and yeah the BR gun is definatly glued because it broke.
