Ah nice! Had a good time in LA I hope? Went there first time last summer, was great

I disagree with that part in bold, the paint applications are better on most hot toys because hot toys are painted by machines that makes them look pretty and not sloppy by novice painters.

I thought HT sculpts were painted by hand. No?

Yes most look ugly because they are people who paint sloppy and can not sculpt at all but they are desperate to make a figure that hot toys can not sculpt either (fact) so these people try their very best. Adam's and Bobby C's are the only decent customs I have seen. Nevertheless, they both have their flaws like sloppy paint applications.

I am someone that wants a good sculpt, the paint job comes second to me, which why I would buy either of Adam's or Bobby's sculpts, than buy poor sculpts by hot toys that have pretty paint jobs.

No HT do not capture the actor from every angle and they lack resemblance to Ledger, which is why customs exist in the first place, because people are desperate for likeness and realism that is not being delivered by hot toys and that is a fact. I agree with you about the hair part though.

Woah. Way to dig up some old posts In the end the whole likeness argument is subjective and cannot be won.

Some people prefer customs because they are limited and 'special'. Others are simply after a better likeness or a figure that the big companies will never produce.
