Honestly, if they fix the jawline, I think that the DX 11 might be able to top Adam's, for the simple fact that, for once, someone was successfully able to capture both Heath Ledger AND The Joker. I don't believe I've ever seen something that successfully pulled that off that wasn't a laughing sculpt. It seems like they either get the Ledger likeness spot-on, yet they don't capture that Joker "vibe", or they manage to get something that perfectly captures The Joker's attitude and expression, yet is lacking in Ledger likeness. This one is something that captures The Joker perfectly, and is very close to being a spot-on ledger likeness. Some of my favorite pics that show this are in the interrogation room dio, in the DX12 teaser pic, and in the SDCC display.

the normal DX11 joker sculpt is way better than the laughing sculpt.
the expression is so perfect and badass best joker sculpt i've seen.

Nice, thanks for the feedback. Just wanted some reassurance I'm not buying a dud of a figure, which HT seems to make quite a few of these days.

The blank expression is due to the paint job. An adam's joker with the Hot Toys paint job should be amazing.
An expression is something you do with your face. Paint is only going to make things look less or more real for these figures. Paint has nothing to do with the expression IMO. Adam has sculpted some with expressions such as the Hit Me, laughing, calm Joker teaser expression, and the kind of blank expression which seemed to be on his Cop Joker as well as a few make up Jokers. You can't chalk up a blank expression to the paint, the expression is I the sculpt

yeah adams is a little more real i just dont like the blank expression.
i think his has lots of expression

I think it's stupefying that some kid in his apartment can sculpt that and Hot Toys can't get their sculpts spot-on more than 10% of the time -- and I feel that's being a little generous.

well adams been sculpting him for years

Yes, this under twenty five year-old kid has been sculpting him for years. Perhaps hot toys should employ him, as they've only been sculpting him for...years.

The last specialist sculpt guy they brought in didn't work out too well :wink1:

I guess it's a glass half empty-glass half full way of looking at things. We got an incredible Superman, but the guy couldn't sculpt Indy to save his life, and, of course, he brought his game on his signature likeness, Bruce Lee. Personally, I wish Kim would've stayed on longer. I think that with stability, he would've delivered some quality sculpts.

He doesn't work for HT anymore?

I'd be scared to work for that guy. If he comes across as a ********* to strangers, I can only imagine what he must be like as your boss. I think that he's probably the Chinese version of Bill Lumbergh from Office Space.

EDIT:Holy ____! They're both named Bill!... And the similarities continue.

The paint job is importan really importan, I'd say it's 50:50 50% the sculpt and 50% the paint job on the final result. If not just watch the Adam's Bruce Wayne thread where everybody made their own paint job and the same sculpt sometimes looks great and other not so much.
