I think that you're missing the point of what he's saying, though. If the expression's not in the sculpt, it's not in the sculpt. If a sculpt has a blank expression like that above, for example, you might be able to give his eyes a little bit of expression, but you aren't going to be able to paint a smirk where there isn't one. The thing that each and every one of the artists behind these sculpts, other than those featuring extreme expressions such as laughter, up to this point, have failed to realize is that it isn't about capturing Heath Ledger's likeness, nor is it about capturing The Joker's mannerisms, it's about capturing both of those things, and merging them into what we saw on screen, and that's why, to me, some of these sculpts with incredible likenesses fail just as much as sculpts like the DX01.
