Name 3 (aside from Kato)
Holy signature!
Name 3 (aside from Kato)
What is it about Dexter that theres a clampdown there yet so much else goes unnoticed.
So because it happens to you, it's OK to endorse it happening to others?
What does this have to do with anything? We've already established that Hot Toys respects IP rights. They're the ones paying for the license.
Nope. Simply means I'm entitled not to be lectured to by the likes of you.
Come on, man. Don't pretend not to get my point. Hot Toys pays licensing fees 'cause it has to, it sells it's wares in the UK, the US and other countries where theft of IP isn't tolerated. If it was hocking these solely on the streets of China it's unlikely this would be the case. And the reason that companies like Hot Toys can exist is because they were built on the back of unlicensed commerce.
Would you like to add anything else in defense of the company you don't work for?
As for those of you talking smack about Adam, or insisting that he doesn't own Heath Ledger's face, well, I anticipate the day he returns to these boards and has a new sculpt far and away superior to what Hot Toys is offering. Perhaps he will once again be accorded the respect he is due. I maintain that without his sculpts it is highly unlikely we would have the Joker 2.0.
First off, I'd like to thank Tick-Tock, Intothevoid, and many other members here for your support.
I found it very interesting that there's other professional artist selling unlicensed Joker figures at a much higher price, and no one has said anything in terms of legality...
Hot toys does own the license of the Joker, and it's perfectly reasonable for them to do the best they can with the license they've paid for. And I think they did a great job. If they really did get any inspiration from my sculpts, I'm honored! I doubt that's the case tho.
For those of you who are familiar with me here, I was never comfortable with selling my stuff.(Maybe you've sent pms to me in the past without hearing back from me. Sorry).
I sold a very limited edition of a few of my sculpts before the massive release of the Wayne heads. I was in college at that time, and some extra cash was pretty darn great to help out between my tuition and rent, but that doesn't justify what I did, and it was wrong. It was stealing.
Commercializing sculpts of movie character/ celebrity without license is illegal for sure. In my case, I did not come up with the idea or the imagery of the Joker or Bruce Wayne, and I simply just copied their likenesses to the best of my ability from photographs.
I'm sorry for what I did in the past, and from now on I'd like to keep all my unlicensed stuff strictly personal, and I am working on some licensed sculpts too. I'll occasionally take one of a kind private commissions strictly on private basis.
Lastly, I will have pics of the DX11 head side by side with my attempt when it comes out. Hopefully, my attempt will be somewhat compatible with the DX11.
I'd like to thank you all for your understanding and support. You all have been very kind to me. Thank you!
Sincerely
Adam

First off, noone ever said anything derogatory about Adam, we were only talking about what he did (which, in a technical sense, IS stealing). Honestly, a lot of these guys have nothing against Adam, but some of his borderline fanatical supporters. If you recall, you're the one who first brought up the concept of Hot Toys "stealing" from Adam. In my eyes, Haytil is in no way disrespecting Adam, he just took off the rose colored glasses and looked at things without letting personal bias cloud what's actually going on (unlike some people).
Again, I don't think that anyone harbors any ill feelings toward Adam, but one thing that I dislike is the "stick up for the little guy, regardless of what he does, because he's the little guy" rationale. At the end of the day, wrong is wrong, whether it happens to the little guy or big business. I mean no disrespect to Adam, but one of the things that I think frustrates people the most is the "Adam can do no wrong" mindset that some of his supporters maintain. It's ridiculous.

You're a classy kid, Adam
I'd have been less professional. Something along the lines of mentioning mother insults and plenty of F words.
People have the right to make customs. Hot Toys cant stop them from doing them or from selling them. If I was someone doing the customs I would keep doing them and tell hot toys to suck it. Legally they have no grounds to stop you from handmade items.
