Dx01: It looks nothing like a real human being though, Ledger or not.
It's a very strange sculpt.

I don't love the stock sculpt, and depending on the lighting/photographer, it can look downright ridiculous, but I do enjoy my modded DX01:

Hi everyone !
I ordered an Ex and I live in France. Could you please tell me how much it is going to cost me about Ship + taxes ? Thank you very much

Ideally you should be checking with SS regarding this, but since they have no clue regarding the box dimensions they won't be able to give you an 'Off the record' estimate as well.

Alright thank you... But is it more 50€ or 150€ ? Cause I could cancel it if it's too much

Didn't you get charged a Non-refundable deposit? If you cancel you'll lose out on those $20-30.

Also, I don't think it's gonna be 150€. Shipping through SS is usually cheap for figures it's the customs / duties that you should be worried about.

I made a 27$ deposit but if I gonna pay 100€ of customs I would better cancell it. How could I know the amount of duties ?

Brazil has pretty high taxes for toy importation. It costs almost the price of the figure just for taxes. Luckily I found a great online store that charges about 50 dollars + the price of the figure. Still high, but not as high as most shops :)

Jeez. I don't know how you overseas guys do it. In don't think I'd be a collector. :(

I heard once that Brazil charges a crazy import taxes, something around %40 of shipped price, because they want to big companies to move to Brazil and generete nw jobs and help their internal economy to grow, the bad part is, companies like Hot Toys will never move to Brazil. so in this case that kind of politicians sucks.. Chile don't doest that far away from Brazil, they charge 26% of the shipped price, but that's only because they are thieves.. :lol

Is there a French toy forum? Maybe there's a thread there about Customs duties/taxes experiences from fellow toy collectors?

We have a local (Philippines) toy forum, and I am lucky that the collectors there are diligent enough to post their experiences.. so everytime I order online, I kind of get a ballpark figure based on the previous experiences of toy collectors in our country.

There should also be a link in the French Post website or something that redirects you to Customs Duties/Taxing information.

If you try to buy Hot Toys or Enterbay figures in Brazil, you are gonna have a bad time. Really, almost no "big" stores sell them, only "underground" ones. The ones that sell it have almost no figures, they're always sold out quickly, but the prices are way better, almost the same price i'd have to pay to buy in Sideshow. And there's a website like e-bay, but prices there are like 1000 reais for each figure (almost 500 dollars) :lol. I'd love to have a new tumblr, but the smaller price I found was about 4500 reais (that'd be like 2250 dollars for them :p) only in this e-bay kind of site.

Brazil has high taxes so they can protect the national toys industry. We had some toy companies but they're like mattel toys or less sophisticated ones. There are high taxes for electronic devices as well. I'll never forget the first months of playstation 3 selling here. They were charging about 8000 reais for a video game, that'd be 4000 dollars. Ridiculous, but there are law projects to change this scenario. Night is darkest just before the dawn, I guess :p

Australia is not too bad. I've never paid any tax from SS and also HK usually offer free shipping. Our local stores stock mostly everything including hard to get figures because I guess nobody thinks of looking in Australia! I think the most I've paid postage is about $45 which is ok to me.

I'm actually Scottish and I did a comparison on some toy stores back home in Britain and they seem to get butt raped bad though. Glad I moved :yess:

These things as good as they are are simply not worth $400-$500.

That's why I almost gave up the idea of buying one. That was until I found a great store, here in Brazil, that sells them at almost the same price as Sideshow, difference is about 50 bucks. And that's way less than what I'd pay to have the package "released" from customs.

Now I just have to wait probably a month after the release to get it, plenty of time to make a interrogation room diorama :lol
