Fixed :slap

All of those photos are prototypes from HT's spec pics.

This is a good comparison of the actual mass produced heads in-hand (minus the new DX 11 - 2.0 sculpts, obviously):

Let's see, i've got 4 out of those 5 sculpts.

How is this a debate? :cuckoo:

I hear ya, BRJ (main) is obviously the best :lecture

The right posing, lighting, DX01 is best of them. I don't like the paint and sculpt material of the BRJ. DATED and sloppy (not because it's interrogation, the paint job just isn't very well done).

I still don't think that photo does the head justice. The new head is better, but the old one is not that bad.

So with all these comparisons of the headsculpts to the real thing has no one posted a comparison for the sports coat and socks on Hot Toys Facebook yet? :lol

And the new expression is much more versatile than just "sinister'.

The smirk is widely open to interpretation.

:exactly: I didn't think I'd like a smirking sculpt as much as I do. It's mainly the PERS system that's opening it up to all kinds of possibilities.

The yellow-green around the hair line on the Bank Robber Joker's "mask" head looks pretty close to what his hair color should be.

Agreed.

Even after two releases I think the BR head still holds up well. That repaint I saw of it a couple pages back is the best repaint I think I've seen of it. It doesn't beat the 2.0 in likeness and all around quality but it's still a very nice sculpt. I think it will continue to be just like I think the DX09 will always remain awesome and timeless.

Some comparisons posted on Facebook:

The regular expression is a very good sculpt but this kinda shows why I think the laughing one is better. The chin is slightly too prominent on the HT sculpt. Also I think the hairline (too much of a V shape) and ears (too angular) are off on both the laughing and the regular (this comparison doesn't really demonstrate this though). The DX01 actually had a more accurate hairline IMO.

And before people start calling me crazy and a hater - I love this set and i'm buying 2. But I'm accuracy OCD :wave

Which is why I'm surprised you didn't know about the different detonators :lol

Honestly, his ears are the last thing I'm worried about at this point. As long as his face is right, the one visable ear isn't that big of a deal if its slightly off. The socks still being wrong bugs me though. I don't know how they haven't fixed that yet. And the sports coat could stand to be bluer as well, but since its usually covered up by the purple coat, its less of a worry than the socks.

I'm going to try and figure out what the sock problem is at SDCC. :tap

What's great about the DX11 prototype is that it has reached the level of JC Hong's custom paint jobs of his personal Joker figures we've seen in the past. Well maybe except for the eyes, but PERS is inherently limited in that regard, I suppose.

The question is if the factory paint job will keep up. I can tell they've been improving vastly in the past year or so. We'll see.

I understand the sentiment, newness is a factor. But sometimes something is just better too.

I mea, do you really think someday I'm going to look back and say to myself: "ya know, the Bank Robber really was a better sculpt."

Not going to happen.

Lets have a dig through shall we... ohh, I don't think I have the patience to shift through 5 months worth to January 09. Even though I'm looking for something for kicks.

Oh lovely, the mods have done a stellar job screwing with merges. BR thread last post, 09-08-2008, 11:36 AM, next post from a merge, 06-12-2011, 09:31 PM.

This statement plainly proves that HT aren't collectibles anymore. I mean why bother to buy this figure when it'll be inferior upon the 3.0 release?

:exactly:

Maybe things will change when Man of Steel comes out

I don't see HT doing a DX Superman, however; I hope they would.

I'm not even gonna expect a single figure from that film. The last time we expected a DC figure from HT that wasn't from Batman they cancelled it

I hope it would be a DX but doesn't have to be even though I love PERS.
An MMS just like the Reeve figure and all the other HT Superman figures before would suffice :D

True but MoS has Nolan (batman figures) backing it and Zach Snyder (At least 2 Sucker Punch and Watchmen figures and King Leo) so I think there's a good chance. Plus superman suit doesn't have (as far as I know) a light up feature. With both Tobey and Garfield Spiderman figures, they seem to have down the whole what body to use and how use spandex suited movie heroes in 1/6 form

This is so true, in another year or two, this figure will be dissed something rotten. Looks like we're just collecting expensively glorified action figures then. Heck even the vehicles are getting recycled.

Suspenders !!!!

How lame is that? I suppose he enjoys taking pictures but sheesh, he's selling the product.

It's a photoshop.
Voorhees, do you mean the suspenders are a photoshop?

I've just finished watching the dark knight and I noticed he does have suspenders on, you can see them in the interrogation scene. I rembered reading this post today. I'm not tryna call you out for saying its a photoshop or what what have you but I never knew he wore suspenders! You see something new everyone you watch it for sure.

Unless your voidcat.

He means that the photo is the face from the figure pasted onto the still from the film, ony the face is the figure.

Sinister, yes. But more like Ledger?

No, the new one looks much more like Ledger to my eyes now that we've seen the full reveal. And I dig the new smirk sculpt, but I still just think I prefer the BR expression. We'll see if that changes once I get the new one in-hand.
