I personally don't think the batman figure itself is a huge swing and miss, but that being said, the Bale sculpt (which I planned on never displaying) does look really bad. Not as bad as Bespin Luke's crappy photos, but nonetheless pretty crappy.

You want to taste disappointment? Collect SSC around 2006 till about 2011, between paint apps and Prometheus issues this ain't nothing.

Same soft sculpt, same crap look. Ladies and gentlemen we have entered a new era of HT Collectibles... Where everything looks like an eBay knock off.

i think you have something there............and we sold off HT from 2-3 years ago when there was QUALITY in their product.......

a lack of texture and/or details on the sculp.
it can be more apreciable on the skin, hair and lips texture

First off, the bad lighting for the Bale sculpt isn't helping. I'll reserve judgement.

Frankly, I'm still pumped for this figure. I can see Bale in the cowl and mouth, and don't think the PERS look bad.

WTH is a soft sculpt?

sharp defined edges on facial features and paint aps that blend properly to fit facial contours..see Nick Fury final product vs. prototype. In hand very much "soft" and more simplified.

I am no Hot Toys apologist but I am not seeing what you guys are talking about. I guess you guys have never collected actual SSC figures.

Yeah, I'm with you. Everything looks as I expected. Of course the production head sculpt will look different (softer sculpt, inferior paint aps) than the proto. And the futzing is bad in the latest pics, which doesn't faze me.

Can someone tell me when he comes out?

Someone posted earlier that this is shipping within the next 30 days.

It is a split shipment with only a small number coming in the first round. Those who ordered from SS are supposedly going to be notified if they will be in the first or second wave.

Other retailers will not see this figure until December.

I glad I ordered this from AEC....it should be second wave which will give me plenty of time to see in hand pics. If it isn't a marked improvement from the previous version I'm going to cancel & live with my DX02.
